This oil is not "Better". It's on par or equal to Mobil 1 since it meets strict European oil guidelines. However, it is a tad bit cheaper than Mobil1, which makes it more attractive I guess.

lol, my bad, meant to say this is a better "deal" than M1. hahaha

but BMW recommends Castrol, more reason to get it over M1

Well BMW "recommends" castrol because they got some endorsement deal going on, plus BMW has their own "specific" oil blend made by castrol. Same thing like how the GT-R specifically uses Mobil1 0W40.

That's correct.. before that they have Valvoline and Quaker State in the late 80s and early 90s.

I would say both oils are very good and comparable.. it boils down your driving style. Oil test is key.

I used M1 in my old vehicle and it didn't burn a drop, tried it in the Subaru and it went through it like crazy. Switched to GC and haven't had to add anything between changes with great blackstone labs reports.

ex. 0w 30

0 is the how thin the oil is in the cold ? lower the number the thinner it is
30 is the thickness when the oil is in operating temperature? higher the number the thicker it is
