Why do people say RIP?

If I was doing something retarded and got killed, I know I don't deserve other people's respect or pity. Hell, I probably deserved to die.

Only people that we should be saying RIP is to war veterans, fire fighters and uncorrupt police officers who died in the line of duty.

And I've been to CBS many many times. There's no way you can fall off from the bridge or the viewpoint....... UNLESS you were doing something stupid.

Are you fucking serious? The bridge is so far from dangerous. You have to be monumentally stupid to fall off of it. Nearly every safety precaution is taken with that bridge. There's a huge fence that is REALLY HARD to fall off of unless you happen to be 12 feet tall and have a higher center of gravity.

It's like trying to kill yourself with...a hockey puck. You probably CAN...but it isn't easy.

While I feel for the family and friends of this individual, what he did was outright stupid. As has been stated, one word truly describes it. Darwinism.

If you're stupid enough to disobey the signs and warnings that are PLASTERED ALL OVER THE FUCKING PLACE at that bridge and "park" then anything that happens is purely of your own fault. Choosing a RAINY, WINDY DAY on top of all other circumstances just further iterates the stupidity of the actions of the individual. I'm sorry, but if you have a brain cramp and something like this happens, there's not much else to say.

Sure, we all make mistakes, and sure, we all may or may not escape those mistakes unscathed. Hopefully this serves as a lesson/reminder to other individuals out there that stupid is no way to go through life.

PS. RIP, only because of what the family will be going through.

Well. This goes out to all the other tools that want to horse play where they shouldn't. Don't they teach kids not to horse play in school?
I feel sad for the family and even the Capilano Suspension Bridge to have this mark underneath their belt.
