Places in the GVA that offer pick-ups for furniture donations

Hey guys,

I'm currently looking for charities or organizations that offer pick-ups for furniture donations. I have e-mailed and called seemingly every donation I can think of but have been turned down due to the fact that they no longer have any space for new furniture.

Places I have already called:
Thrifty
HomeStart
Big Brothers
Disability Association
Salvation Army

Please let me know any places that offer this service!

Or if you any of you want to have two working sofas, let me know as well!

Cheers!

Value village doesn't do pick ups and I want to hold off on CL until I have to.

Thanks though!

That was the very first thing I did.

So far, it will be well over a month in waiting for a pickup.

Yeah, tons of flakes. I can't believe how many people will make an appointment to pick up something and don't show. It's a waste of our time.

7seven's list is pretty good. I was going to suggest Salvation Army and CD too but they're already on his list.

You simply leave it outside and post an ad as to where it will be. First come first serve.

I would do that except last time I tried that, the stuff was picked through and strewn across my back driveway. I ended up having to throw a lot of it in the trash after the rain got to it which kind of defeats the purpose of posting it in the "free items".

I feel your pain and I find giving shit away such a pain I just take it to the dump now no matter how good condition its in. I go to the dump I can take everything in one trip, nobody picking through it, we'll take that we don't want that or that.

The best way to avoid flakers is to post the item up for a minimal amount, like $1. Used to post stuff up for free all the time and had tons of people flake. As soon as I started posting them up for a single dollar, every single person that offered to pick up the items showed up. It's weird, but I kid you not that it works.

word, his technique works.

and Charities are really picky, they'll only take things that look fairly new and minimal damage.
trust me i know, i bring items to them to go thru, and most of the time they dont want it.
