Speaking of viral market, here's an old one that I found hilarious when I first stumbled upon

shenmecar 06-08-2010 06:24 PM

spoon.ek9 06-08-2010 06:26 PM

Vansterdam 06-08-2010 06:26 PM

sleazyho 06-08-2010 07:01 PM

aaaaaaaaawesome

jdmhaze 06-08-2010 07:25 PM

I love how it said JACKSON BRIGGS, on his door, but had the 'ON' faded out so it just looks like it says 'JACKS'! That looks like its going to be SICKKKK. I remember going to watch Mortal Kombat, and Annihilation in theatres. Fuck the new generation twilight shit. BRING BACK MORTAL KOMBAT!

El Bastardo 06-08-2010 07:55 PM

This "city gone wild" idea is a throwback to the movies of the 80s and early 90s (Demolition Man, Predator 2, Robocop, etc)

It may be an outdated cheesy concept but even the outdated and cheesy deserves a second chance.

hal0g0dv2 06-08-2010 08:15 PM

sick cant wait

filth 06-08-2010 09:29 PM

fuck this looks so good, it better come out soon and be a movie

JqC 06-08-2010 10:01 PM

That was just fucking awesome.

Yeah true this isn't totally true to the original gaming series, but Warner Bros. just wants to sell movie tickets. This will do it.

Obsideon 06-08-2010 10:57 PM

Look HAWT ... I'll definitely go see this if it comes out in theatres!

rsx 06-08-2010 11:12 PM

I agree. But Scorpions eyes were messed up so that must mean he's already a deadman walking.

I think they could still keep this style and work in the mythical stuff and make it work.

keifun 06-09-2010 12:25 AM

wheres Kitana..? the one in the previous two movies was hot;)

FerrariEnzo 06-09-2010 12:41 AM

!e.lo_ 06-09-2010 12:56 AM

Leopold Stotch 06-09-2010 01:49 AM

very cool video. so well made.

JSilver 06-09-2010 08:04 AM

Wow too sick.

7seven 06-09-2010 08:09 AM

haha I know the guy that plays Scorpion in that short. I wouldn't expect a film anytime soon, the studio has nothing to do with this, it was all made independently as a short.

http://ca.kotaku.com/5558850/that-mo...-ryan-explains

Actress Jeri Ryan of Star Trek: Voyage fame appears as Sonya Blade in a Mortal Kombat trailer dubbed "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" that popped up online. Is it a game trailer? A movie trailer? Tell us, Jeri, tell us!

"Okay, so... Mortal Kombat," she tweets. "It's not a game trailer. Actually was made for the director to sell WB on his vision for a reimagined MK film."

Ryan said she did her role as a favor to a friend. "No idea yet what WB's reaction to it was," she adds. I can tell you what my reaction was: stoked.

While a Mortal Kombat film was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (of Resident Evil movie fame) in 1995, an updated take on the franchise has been languishing in development hell. However, a lawsuit has been filed by the development partner of the original film as it signed a contract in 2006 to do a sequel.

The Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short was helmed by Kevin Tancharoen. He directed last year's Fame remake.

nabs 06-09-2010 08:28 AM

looks pretty cool. i can't wait, pretty excited now.

Vinny G 06-09-2010 08:38 AM

Bring back the Mortal Kombat theme or this movie will suck.

jmvdesign 06-09-2010 08:55 AM

looks like a really good direction to reboot this franchise. this could easily make a nice trilogy.

hotjoint 06-09-2010 09:26 AM
