do the inspectors only look for a cat? Will they care about my open dump tube?
Other questions:
I plan to remove my MBC and just run the waste gate spring at low boost (5psi). Should I then lean out the tune to reduce HC? I figure stock turbo cars must be 12:1 or so on boost, so how much of a problem is running "the correct" AFR on HC? Should I just tune the SAFC to "N/A" levels? Will this be safe on low boost with 94 octane mohawk?
I plan to tighen the spring on my BOV so I don't get rich on deceleration. I have the SAFC compensating now, but it still runs a little rich on decel. How much of a problem will this be?
What if I just happen to have a bunch of exhaust leaks at the mani, or DP? It will sound like ass, but will it get me though aircare?
Finally, I have a 5 year old "high flow" cat on there now. I figure there is not much catalyst left? Should I just rent a cat for the day, or will I get by with a good tune?

They wont care. They probably wont even know what it is. I guess it depends on where the end of the dump tube sits. THat said. I was able to make it with my old set up that had open to atmosphere wastegate dump tube.

hc and CO super low. Just NOx high becuase no EGR. I think if I retard my timing I should be fine. they don't care about the open dump and they don't even push the car into boost. More just FYI for other searchers.

sounds like you need a new CAT to reduce NOx

I have a new cat. I think I should be fine once I retard timing. I will post results once I go again.
