yeah, i heard alberts is in too. last night they were saying on 1040 that ballard is sitting out because it appears he isn't buying into the system AV wants to use in regards to our defense breaking out of the zone.
the example they used is how everyone makes that 1st pass (or chip off the boards a la Aaron Rome) on the first opportunity. ballard tends to button hook back into our zone when he doesn't like what he sees. i did notice this before last night's conversation but didn't really take note of it. now that it's been brought up, i can see why AV might dislike the disruption of the flow. as far as i can remember, ballard is the only one that circles back into our zone like this.

Hmm I figure they would use Ballard, quicker and more mobile than Alberts. Considering speed is what we need against Boston, the Alberts choice puzzles me.
As far as Spoon's post goes, very interesting ...I've never noticed it but definitely going to be paying attention to it now.

He's doing that right now because Ballard makes takes too many risks plain and simple. Don't get me wrong I want Ballard to play as well but when he breaks down the ice I do get worried hes going to lose the puck and there will be a odd man rush or a better chance at a scoring opportunity. AV got us here by his coaching and I trust what hes doing and feel I don't need to second guess his decision with putting Alberts in the game. He is a bigger body which we need against the Bruins as well.
