having a difference of opinion (about Canucks) or trying to respresent "minority opinion" (in other threads) is not grandieur. It's just controversial. (and I don't mind heat for that)

Or maybe you'd just like everyone in this forum to be agreeable hmmmm? How undynamic. "ra ra ra Canucks yay!"

This goes for other fans out there, not just you. There's a certain contingent of Canuck fans that think they do service by pimping their team's grandieur.

Yes, the above will earn nothing but "brownie points" from other non-hockey knowing Canuck fans but in hockey perspective IMO, it's doing the fanbase a huge disservice when the opinions I find pimped at times are so biased that it holds little to no actual merit.

Better to be called a bandwagoner but your opinions have some hockey merit because they actually reflect what's on the ice, rather than earn props as a blind-devotee but one who's opinions rarely reflect what occurs on ice.

With hockey talk, there's nothing I find more silly (and presses my buttons more which gets me into conflict a lot) than the rules that seem to govern Canucks discussion. The rules I found being Pro opinions = "good opinions" and Con opinions = "bad opinions".

And BTW, I thought I was igNOIRed?

haha, this chat isn't even remotely bad when you compare it to the forums on canucks.com

DanHibiki 11-28-2010 10:49 AM

I stopped going to the Canuck forum years ago. So bad there.

RiceIntegraRS 11-28-2010 10:58 AM

^same here, most of the people there probably dont even know who Stan Smyl is. Or not even born during the 94 run.

spoon.ek9 11-28-2010 11:30 AM

werd. In comparison to CDC, there's actually only a handful of members here that throws the "bandwagon" card for anything remotely Canuck-negative. It's hardly the majority anymore.

HFBoards NHL General sub-forum isn't that bad either for hockey talk but I notice Canuck fans have a bad rap there.

I don't get it when people say "two huge points".

Seems like you're diminishing the other wins. Two points are two points, you need the points from earlier matchups just as much as you need the points from this matchup.

A loss early in the season hurts you just as much as a loss in the last game of the season.

It's a tight race right now for first in the division, so these points will have a ripple effect so to speak if we don't finish first in the division and are battling for positioning come March and April. Not to mention 2 points can put you anywhere in from 4th to 10th right now

Technically you are right, but getting two points from an elite team like San Jose or Detroit is definitely 'bigger' and more meaningful than two points from a shitty team like the Islanders or the Flames :troll:

:werd:

Look at the Western Conference standings

3 points separate 1st place and 8th
HAHA

Hondaracer 11-28-2010 03:11 PM

"huge points" also against teams that we need to beat in order to build momentum/confidence

SkinnyPupp 11-28-2010 03:43 PM

Points are also 'huger' when they come from a team in the same conference. In terms of conference standings (for playoff spots) 2 points against the Sharks is essentially 4 points. So they are 2 huge points.

Not really racist! 11-28-2010 05:14 PM

Points are the "hugest" when it comes from a team within your own division.
You win the division title, you're guaranteed the top 3 spots for playoffs.
