I thought rookie salary cap doesn't effect the team until he plays 10 games?

They count towards the salary cap if they're on the roster like all other players. If they play 10+ games, they lose a year on their entry-level contract I think.

yup basically if he plays over ten games in nhl he loses a year on the entry lvl contract or w.e it is. he makes 65k in the ahl for the year but if called up say for a week he makes 60k that week because its based on his wage he would make in nhl

The guy we should be targeting is Zenon Konopka from the Islanders. Makes 600k, plays physical hockey and is in the top 10 for face-offs. Could you imagine having three top 10 face-off men On the Canucks? The other team would never start with the puck.

He'd be an upgrade most of our 4th line except Glass and is a true center.

Zenon Konopka seems to accumulate a lot of penalty minutes, I'm not sure you really want that on a team. Besides, what good is he when he is in the box? Can't really take faceoffs from there.

If gillis doesny want to trade anyone. All he has to do is keeP salo on LTIR until we can afford him to play for us. Salo doesnt need to be rushed into the lineup which only helps us.
