I've removed a namebar before, easier than taking off triple stitched numbers let me tell ya. Haven't replaced them though

pure.life 03-26-2011 07:19 PM

what if the flames somehow are two points away from clinching 8th spot in their last game of the season against the Canucks.. do we let them win?

Dallas, LA, and Nashville are almost just as likely, with 6-7 games left there is going to be a lot of movement from 5-10th. LA is likely to drop a bit now with Kopitar and Williams out (their top 2 scorers)....infact I think they may be the weakest playoff team in the west.

That said, theres a reason Anaheim and Chicago are battling for 8th, and the Canucks have 1st in the league all but locked up, even with tons of injuries. The Nucks are a better team. They're 10 up on Detroit FFS, thats unreal.

jigga250 03-26-2011 07:39 PM

haha, Lames. Would be great to see any glimmer of playoff hope they had remaining dashed by their cross-province rivals and the worst team in the league. I'm sure Oilers fans would love this win as well.

shawn79 03-26-2011 07:47 PM

kopitar is done for 6 weeks

True they do I just feel thats most likely at the moment. I dont think Nashville is going to drop lower than 7th they play the type of game where if they are going to lose they are going for at least a single point in that loss and 4 of their last 6/7? games are against atl, col, clb and stl. I personally think Dallas is done and is in the same situation Carolina was before tonight drop another 2 points behind 8th and are done but they do still have 2 games vs col so there is slim hope. As for LA kopitar is a huge loss but their defence (mitchell and j.johnson/greene improvement) is much better than last year and their goal tending is as well but... probably have the toughest schedule left(van, sj, anahx2,phx) . You also have to remember some teams are completely built for playoffs and struggle to make it in but then will pull upsets before being exhausted(Anah) and some teams are built for regular season(SJ). Id much rather play Chicago/LA over the rest to start. I dont think Chicago is anywhere near what they were last year but they seem to always have some nobody become a superstar when playing the canucks. So its really not that favourable for the canucks and i doubt teams are purposely battling for 8th, if they fuck up a game to try to get 8th they might not make it in.

5 - 5, game on

jigga250 03-26-2011 08:33 PM

Guess I spoke too soon:troll:

Kinda glad the Lames still have a glimmer of hope of making the playoffs, it'll make their tears even sweeter when the Nucks crush their dreams in the last game of the season

Ronin 03-26-2011 08:34 PM

Wow, big comeback from the Flames. I still think they're dead in the water but they stepped up.
