I said it once and I'll say it again, if we can't beat the Hawks we don't deserve the cup. I don't know what difference it makes if we play DAL or CHI. Sure we dominated them in the regular season, but playoffs is completely different hockey.

the difference it makes, is that assuming we DO win the first round, the team is likely to be considerably more banged up after a long(er) series with the hawks, thus making advancing further all the more difficult. Every extra game you play in the first round, especially considering the intensity of playoff hockey, is significant when you're playing well into June.

vey true.. it shouldn't matter who we face.. and chicago isn't exactly playing great hockey.. it is more psychological than anything....

the stars remind me of the year when the canucks just had to win their last 2 games to make it in, and they lost to edm in the last game of the year in a lacklustre affair.

It's gonna be a big battle regardless of who isn't on the Hawks team this yr. It's the freaking playoffs dammit. Everyone plays a bit harder and the gaps that were there during the season are closed.

It'll be an amazing first round. I'm hoping for Canucks to pull through but I think it'll take at least 6

Look at the Flyers from last post season. They went to 3 game 7's and they managed to push the Hawks to a game 6. Sure they might have been banged up, but it's the playoffs and this is what they play for so they have the drive to keep going.

Linden playing with a broken foot in 94? How many triple ot's and game 7's did we go through during that cup run? IMO it's better to not have such long breaks between series.

It's a high risk, low reward series. If we win, it's cool we took out the hawks but the reward is just the 2nd round. If we lose... fuck, don't even want to think about it.

Hawks still have Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, and Seabrook, and possibly a psychological edge over Luongo. Dallas has Morrow, Richards, Eriksson, and......Ribeiro? Its not even close IMO. Look at our games vs them this year and how tight all the Chicago games were, while the Dallas games were all basically borderline blowouts.
