Stadium looks great. This is how football is meant to be played

MG1 07-10-2010 06:15 PM

LOL, Casey Printers has been watching too much World Cup.

That wasn't even a hit.

MG1 07-10-2010 06:26 PM

Damn, I was hoping BC would be the first to put points on the baord in this inaugural game.

MG1 07-10-2010 06:32 PM

Wow, this could turn out to be ugly. The Green are just too much for our boys.

carisear 07-10-2010 06:44 PM

now THAT's what i want to see all season long!

printers to superman!

DsZ24 07-10-2010 06:45 PM

Not sure if anybody cares but there will be a fly by by an F-18 at 7:05pm over Empire Field.

Was at a friend's bbq in Vancouver and saw it fly overhead. Never been to an airshow before, and it was one of the coolest sights ever!

I went to many as a kid but haven't seen a jet in years. Needless to say I got outside my front yard just in time as the plane flew pretty much directly over my house at about 500 feet. Pretty awesome, too bad it was only 1 and not like 3.

Was a great time and I really enjoyed watching the game outside again the way it is meant to be played. The dude in the wheelchair rolling onto the field near the end of the game was hilarious. There really isn't a bad seat in there either, you're so close to the field. Also if your in the endzones there are no nets, balls are kicked into the stands. Watched the horse races in the afternoon and parking was only $10 so that was actually pretty decent.

The only complaints I'd have which should be expected anyway are the lineups for everything were pretty long and the flow of moving around the Stadium is not very good.

Gh0stRider 07-11-2010 01:58 AM

The F-18 fly by was awesome!

couple fights in the stands.

wheelchair went onto the field lol

Cereal Killer 07-11-2010 08:47 PM

No, they raised prices $5 on all tickets.

I got myself a pair for the game on August 27 against the Stampeders. PNE and then the game afterwards - should be a great day as long as the weather holds up.

quasi 07-12-2010 11:13 AM

They actually have a home game during the PNE? Parking is going to be retarded that afternoon/night.

JSALES 07-12-2010 01:44 PM

i'm working this Friday's game. they had some nice muscle cars during half time along with some of the felions

wouldn't really refer to it as 'badass'. bc place is way better primarily due to the fact its a bigger venue. empire stadium is alright but doesn't have a roof so if it snows its gonna be a huge pain in the ass.

Odds of snow in the lower mainland before mid November? It could happen but probably not. BC Place is a better Stadium as its a permanent structure but it is not a better place to watch a football game and it isn't even close. On a scale of 1 to 10 of how good BC Place is for watching football it's about a 2. Now rain in October and November will make watching games at Empire suck ball sack. I've watched games in the snow at Taylor Field in weather as cold as -25 with windchill and ya it's cold as fuck but it's still enjoyable, probably better then watching in the rain.

If you passed by Playland's Gate 11 at anytime, I was one of the guys working there ;)

Heading to a game at Empire Stadium on Friday. The BC Lion's FAQ says that stadium policies follow that of the PNE, posted here.

Has anyone tried bringing a camera in? I want to bring my SLR but the policy says cameras are prohibited.

I had my small point and shoot there last game and was taking pictures no problem. I don't know about an SLR or if it makes a difference.
