| Meet the 'Samsung Heiress' Who Smuggled 500 Lbs. of Pot
COLUMBUS, Ohio (CBS/WBNS) Federal agents say they have arrested Lisette Lee, a possible heir to the Samsung Electronics fortune, after allegedly finding more than 500 pounds of marijuana in her luggage.
Federal Drug Enforcement Agency officials arrested the 28-year-old on Monday night, CBS affiliate WBNS reports, after a chartered jet landed at Port Columbus International Airport. .
Lee, from Beverly Hills, was flying from California to Columbus, Ohio when officials say they noticed she was traveling with a large amount of luggage.
The DEA in California tipped off officials in Columbus, and when the plane landed, agents were waiting as luggage, allegedly containing the marijuana, was loaded into three waiting vans, WBNS reports.
The DEA says the plane was carrying 13 bags of luggage.
According to WBNS, Lee told government agents she had no idea she was transporting drugs, but agents said they found cocaine and marijuana in her bag, along with a ledger that showed profits in excess of $300,000.
"She told investigators she was coming here to meet a boyfriend," Alverson said.
Officials say they are trying to confirm information that Lee is an heir to the Samsung electronics fortune. Agents say she told them her family has several multimillion-dollar businesses.
Lee arrived on a chartered Gulf Stream jet that cost $50,000 round trip.
She is being held without bond.   |

She's rich and unknown (making an example of her doesn't really help them) so punishment will be at the bottom end of the spectrum for sure. What a bonehead though I don't even think Paris is that dumb and there are rocks with more brain power then her.

the bottom end of the spectrum for someone smuggling hundreds of lbs of marijuana and carrying cocaine/marijuana on their person on a federal charge in the usa..... is tantamount to "me love you long time"
for the smuggling in the amount she has its 5 years minimum
for the marijuana/cocaine on her person it depends on the amount but likely a few months total

She's saying that her friend paid her $60k to deliver the luggage to a Horse farm and was told it was equipment for horses... but she also hired bodyguards to protect her
she claims she suspected she was getting involved in a arms smuggling deal but not drugs...
