			meh... the restaurant still got their 200K for stuff that's worth pennies
 and they forced their female staff to count the cash (so everyone won, they all got to see chicks play in a load of cash)

For example, if you pay in pennies stores are only legally required to accept up to 25 pennies. Nickels and dimes are 100, quarters are 40, loonies are 20 and twonies are 20.

			At what sort of fucking restaurant can you rack up a $30,000 bill and THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT!?
 I can sort of understand No. 9 not wanting to deal with credit cards when you spend $5 on wontons but if you ate $30,000 anywhere, HOW CAN THEY EXPECT YOU TO CARRY THAT MUCH IN CASH!?

 ...and where the fuck can you even spend that much on dinner? Even El Bulli, the best restaurant on the planet, is only like $600 a person.

 | People don't go to these restaurants for good food, they go to "get face". Therefore, it's totally understandable that they would have "50 year old" baiju and white truffles, etc. They probably have no idea what they are eating or drinking, but that doesn't matter. It's just another way to flaunt.

			I'm surprised the dude actually managed to exchange 200K in 1 bucks bill.
 I mean, a regular bank won't have that many in stock. It has to be special ordered.

wtf? | I work at a drop in teen center and douche bag teens try paying with pennies on purpose.
I have this posted and tell them to screw off. http://www.canlii.org/en/ca/laws/sta...2.html#history per the currency act
Legal tender
8. (1) Subject to this section, a tender of payment of money is a legal tender if it is made
(a) in coins that are current under section 7; and
(b) in notes issued by the Bank of Canada pursuant to the Bank of Canada Act intended for circulation in Canada.
Limitation
(2) A payment in coins referred to in subsection (1) is a legal tender for no more than the following amounts for the following denominations of coins:
(a) forty dollars if the denomination is two dollars or greater but does not exceed ten dollars;
(b) twenty-five dollars if the denomination is one dollar;
(c) ten dollars if the denomination is ten cents or greater but less than one dollar;
(d) five dollars if the denomination is five cents; and
(e) twenty-five cents if the denomination is one cent. 25 cents in pennies , legally, is all you can pay and that's all I am willing to accept ...bitches | | | | | 06-24-2010, 01:23 AM | #65 | | I only answer to my username, my real name is Irrelevant!

 | You arent accounting for alcohol...
My buddies dad has a huge construction company that built a mall in Alberta last year. When the job was finished they went out for dinner. The bill came to $50k. There was also some guy that spent a stupid amount of money last year in New York.

I've been to dinners @ various spots in DT Vancouver were dinner bill came to over $1000 because of rare/expensive alcohol being ordered.
