jpark 06-24-2010 03:46 PM

hmm i wonder if he can help me with my projector retrofit lol, i have 2010 es350 projectors lieing around.. just to scared to do anything cuz im a wuss -__-

The only 2010 Altima model that comes with factory xenon is the 3.5 SR coupe.

These are FX-R projectors with whatever shroud Jordan had on hand (not a picky person).

Jordan is the guy who installed it for me and it took about 2 days. If you guys click on the link in the first post it will take you to his web site and show you some of the work he has done for local customers. He started out as audio specialist but expanded his service range as you can see there are couple other retrofit jobs he has done.

The cost to me was about $600 including tax.

Buzz him, your es350 projector is probably bigger than the fx-r but as long as there's enough room he can get it in there for you :)

yay one less person to blind me :)
man ppl with HIDS in halogens without retrofit should be pulled over more often. Its become so ridiculous that corollas and shit all have them now, and im getting blinded by every other on coming car. I flash my highs at them and they still don't get it.

yes but if there aimed properly it shouldn't blind you like mine are..

Mugen EvOlutioN 06-25-2010 08:21 AM

$600 eh...a little steep

hmm

A good set of retro parts, bulbs ballast projectors and shrouds should cost about 250. Labour about 150-200 depending on person

don't have the exact price break down on hand but I remember labour was 200.

I have never done any projector retrofit or had the luck to find couple retrofitters to compare the prices but it sounds fair to me as a lot of shops out there charge $80/hr if not more to work on a car and this is definitely not a quick plug n play job.

You are right, this job can probably be done for cheaper but I am guessing the parts have to be somewhat decent unlike the 35 or 50 dollar hid kit. All in all, the guy is like 5 mins away from me so it was very convenient and I just wanted the projectors done right away instead of shopping for price :P

Mugen EvOlutioN 06-25-2010 09:56 AM

does he has an actual shop or does it from home

Park in front of a wall at night, like 50 ft away, and take a picture.

:bullshit: with halogen housing, you have to aim the HIDS so damn low, that it makes them worse than regular halogen bulbs for vision.

Because of the link that he posted wasn't a RS sponsor, it had to be removed.
