But what I would do is make sure I have all my bases covered in terms of how to preserve my privacy BEFORE going to claim the money. I would probably go buy a Ferrari... maybe F430 or California... probably get a decently sized house, no real need for a mansion per se... make sure the family is taken care of... but in general, would probably be fairly conservative with the spending. I sure as hell would never be one of those retards that somehow blows their entire fortune and then ends up broke again... |
I'm sure everyones attitudes would change. Yours, your family/friends and everyone around you. Among the many things I'd buy, I'd build my dog a massive play pen with female dogs laying around he can sex every night. Posted via RS Mobile |

spent $70 bux and didnt even win a free ticket lol |
wow $70? The most I ever spend is $20 and thats when its at max |
Well, would you want the retarded one or the smart one? I would do this as the smart one: Spend a few mill to get what ever the hell I want like car(s) or a house or two to get it out of the system With Richmond's rising house prices I would then rent out the house and make a little income (just there to be safe) With 10 mil or so left I will start a foundation to donate. 5 for big return investments and the last 25 mil I will sit down with someone at the bank to make a plan for me to see how much interest this $25mill will generate and spend the interest only. My life would still go on with a job and that money will be for living as well. |
1) make it rain with 10k in 1 dollar bills at a club in the US 2) buy season tickets to canucks and then hire people to scalp the unwanted tickets 3) black card for everybody in my family 4) some nice cars and some cheap cars 5) treat friends and family to a holiday 6) live off the rest on investment returns and be a career student -- no i'm not giving my money away, not in a phase of life where i need to leave my legacy with donations. |
if i won... - buy a brand new BMW E92 M3 sedan - pay off family mortgage - bribe my way through school - rest is in savings and watch it go up with interest. |
donate 10 percent to hospitals, buy a penthouse around false creek, pay the mortgage for my parents, buy mountain bikes; and finally, invest in renewable power sources |
If I won, 10% would be charity/revscene 15% to my parents 10% to buy two houses (one to live one to rent) spend could grand to fix up my accord with a j32 turbo and 6 speed swap + full repaint. The rest.... Bank for the future, and holding bi-weekly un-offical rs bbq meets :) Posted via RS Mobile |

BTW, just a note for anyone who would hand out money to friends and relatives: remember that while WINNINGS are tax-free, large gifts are not, and the recipients of your generosity will have to pay their own income tax. The trick to getting around it is to use one of BCLC's "group buy" forms, and name all those people as "co-winners". Where a regular group buy might give everyone an equal split, you CAN specify who gets what percetage - parents are 10% partners, siblings 5%, etc. |
I'd continue living more or less exactly how I am. I'd pay off a few debts, pay off the parent's house, and buy a couple places in downtown Vancouver, most of which i'd rent out; probably buy a prius too. After that, the rest goes into the saving's account where the money works for me! Oh, and I'd keep on working too. |

Okay, you can win the lottery but stay anonymous, but you can't collect the winnings without staying anonymous. |
isn't that what i just said? this is common to pretty much every lottery in the world, btw... |
If the person had the option to stay anonymous, every couple of lottery draws, the company would just pocket the 10 mill and say the winner wanted to stay hidden... |
