reactions to "the goal" just picked up my copy of "with glowing hearts, commemorative book of the Olympics" today at chapters and it made me want to relive that "moment" went on youtube and found a cool clip, enjoy. in HD. anytime you feel down, had a bad day, just watch these two clips below |
ooooh gave me goosebumps... good memories |
always love re-living it... |
ive been to quite a few places and quite a few good parties, and to be honest i think the Olympics here were pretty much the best time of my life, great memories |
This is the type of thread i will never fail EVER for being posted more than one time! |
such a storybook ending.... :) |
I'm so proud to be Canadian and I'm happy I was able to experience that with everyone else. BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!! |

I'm really happy for all you 2010 Olympic fans. I'm gonna let you finish, but Paul Henderson had the biggest Canadian hockey goal moment of all time. In fact, the whole Russia vs Canada series from beginning to end and how the events unfolded was epic. How dirty those Russian players were. Alan Eagleson being escorted over to the Canadian hockey players' bench to ensure his safety, as he gives the Russian fans the finger. http://www.1972summitseries.com/index2.html |
^ Hey gramps, don't ruin it for us youngins' ;) |

j/k While I realize how that series went down and how epic it was, 2010 Olympics was like...yesterday.... and in my back yard, literally. I was with my Canadian brothers, in the streets, cheering and being proud of our win. BTW Henderson's jersey just sold for 1.2M http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slu...jersey-3729904 |
My reaction was to go "yey" and crawl into a closet-sized room at the Manga Cafe I was watching the game at, at 4am after many many drinks. |
dayummm i missed that moment, best adrenaline rush ever |

Yeah, sorry about that. I shouldn't have tried to turned the thread into a bloody history lesson. |

The '72 series was fantastic, even though I've only watched it all through videos and read it in books. However, like it's been mentioned, '10 was in my backyard and I (we!) we all able to watch it live, foibles and all, and experience everything as in unfolded. As great as the '72 Olympics were, 2010 will simply be much better, if only because I'll be able to tell my kids that I was there. |
that last video really got to me.. man o man o man. |
fuck i miss it all... |
i'd give everything for those 2 weeks to return :( |
I was just reading an old article from before the Olympics started and found an interesting quote that I'd like to share: Quote:

good ol' Mr. Mason, I was friends with his son in elementary school and it was like an event when he came to talk with our class :lol |
fuck you OP.. made my eyes all watery and shit and today was one of those days where my allergies didn't kick in. ...too beautiful. |
