Running Now would be a great idea
The door came from a 2003 Accord?? wow.. I thought Accord changed their style on 2004. How could a 2003 door fit a 2004?

It's from Larsa Motors Ltd. in New Westminster 12st
On Craigslist, search "Accord 2004 Larsa" you can find their "free accident Accord" ad

A deposit usually means that you're committing yourself to purchasing a certain product or service. It means, least from what I understand is that, "don't sell this vehicle to anyone, since I will purchase it". Unless you have something else in writing, you're giving up your cash.

If you choose to cancel the sale due to something that you overlooked you're basically going to lose your deposit.

I'm not siding with someone that deceived you, or any other 'crooked' person but after all it's up to the buyer to make the proper decision. Good luck... putting a deposit down is useless.

First off, your B-pillar shouldn't be cut at any point and welded by manufacturer. You can always easily fight this in court though.

Get the dealer charged with false advertisement. He told you there was no accident which you then took advantage of a "killer" deal, but damn that B-pillar doesn't look safe at all.

Sorry man, false info. Unless he signed somewhere where it said Partial Payment, any deposit on a automobile in BC is 100% refunable, no matter what he said/ he said.

The only questionable time would be if a deposit is put down so work can be completed on the vehicle, for example I put $1000 down so that a dealership can go ahead and repair damages that I want repaired before purchase, it gets a little tricky in this case.

I did put a clause in the contract where it says "subject to motor vehicle inspection and ICBC claim report"

After we saw a different vin on the driver's door, we requested for a 2nd inspection but he refused. He said it's a part number and everything is okay.
His argument is the ICBC claim report is clean and the Honda dealership inspection is clean. That's why he doesn't refund the deposit.

Now the dealer is desperate to sell the car lowering the price to $8950. It was $9950 when I go there.

more importantly, did you get your deposit back? Talk to the VSA man, they will set that dealer straight and help you get your deposit back.

I wouldn't have bailed on the deal over replaced doors. There could have been multiple small claims warranting door replacement but not showing up as a dec of over $2000.
If a car gets broken into and the area surrounding the door handle gets damaged quite often the door gets replaced.(used doors are cheap for these cars)
The picture you posted looks completely fine. There is no damage there that is a pinch weld sealed with factory seam sealer. I've seen it thousands of times. If you lost your deposit over what a bunch of people on the internet posted as supposed to Honda tech's advise that is unfortunate.
If you still have an opportunity to save the deal and negotiate a better price based on these discrepancies then take the car to a reputable body shop and have it inspected to look for shady substandard repairs.

I called the Honda technician he said he wouldn't buy such a car.

I tried to ask for a lower price but the dealer refused.

I asked for a second inspection to get it inspected by a reputable shop, dealer refused again.

"I asked for a second inspection to get it inspected by a reputable shop, dealer refused again. "

So deal still pending and THEY refused?
If so did THEY give you the deposit back? Because they should have.

The point is, an "ICBC accident report" only lists damages over $2000. A car could have a dozen claims of $1900 and still come up listed as "accident free".

Are you sure? I just checked ICBC report for another car. It shows a claim for $300.

I think the dealer by law has to declare all accidents over $2000. But ICBC report shows everything reported to ICBC.

Here is what I can find out about this vehicle:

The door that you posted with the vin number is clearly off of a 2003 Accord because when you decode the Vin it indicates that. The vehicle is clearly a 2004 going by the Vin that you provided! They body style is the same.

Did you go the ICBC search yourself or are you going by what the "dealer" provided you?

I know that dealer does do rebuilds / imports since I have delt with them before!

Best of luck! If the job is done right then you got yourself a good deal on a 04. How does the car look?

On the ICBC website, you can get the history report for the car for $20 + HST. It shows EVERY claim this car has had and is more accurate than Carfax, which shows how many times the car has been registered/renewed insurance so it seems like theres a lot of story behind the car.
