Android Apps

thought it would be useful to compile some useful android apps in one thread.

my top picks are

kaoler clock (a fullscreen clock for at night)
juice defender (extends my x10's battery to TWO FULL days)
calwidget (calendar widget)
twiccia (twitter client)
movies
flashlight

I'm looking for a profile changer that has time conditions (changes to a profile at a certain time). I know there's locale but I'm looking for a free one. any tips?

JEFF'S BACK!

oh hai!

and to add to the thread ...

kaoler clock is the only app I added on my x10 when I had it

Gh0stRider 07-04-2010 06:22 PM

Got lots of apps, i'll have to look through what ive got.

SkinnyPupp 07-04-2010 08:28 PM

The ones I use most are

Robo Defense
Dolphin HD
MSN Talk
Maps
AK Notepad
ES File Explorer
SystemPanel

I am looking for a good basic calculator, the one that came with it really sucks. But all the ones I've seen on the market are crazy scientific calculators with way too many buttons and ugly as fuck.

I use settings profile. Automatically changes phone profiles based on times i've set.

RockPlayer for playing Xvid,Divx, etc videos. It's not available on the Android market. Free, unlike yxplayer. http://groups.google.com.hk/group/ro...61ca385e2218a4

Does anybody use the Backgrounds app by Stylem Media? It periodically changes my background from a list of favorites I've chosen. However, I've noticed that none of the backgrounds are ever set to full screen. I know the background pics themselves can encompass the whole screen, I'm just not sure why Backgrounds doesn't make it so.

Using the X10, BTW.

!MiKrofT 07-05-2010 01:35 PM

Hmm try this other one.

http://www.sbsh.net/products/android/phoneweaver

It was just released for Android and it's the one I've always used when I was on windows mobile. Doesn't mention if it supports 1.6 though.

Robo Defense is the reason why I have to recharge my phone during the day. HIGHLY, HIGHLY ADDICTIVE.

joquio 07-08-2010 11:10 AM

What's good about K9 Mail?
Much better than default Gmail app?

I love swype. I can type without looking now

here's a beta download link with some install instructions:
http://www.techhail.com/mobiles/down...oid-phone/3852

once installed, I recommend you guys run through the swype tutorial.

JKam 07-12-2010 10:40 PM

htc ime is the best

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2010 10:49 PM

TouchPal is my favourite, but they haven't released the final Android version yet :(

I used it on WinMo and it was fantastic. I prefer swiping to choose cases and alternate chars, rather than holding the key down for a second.

For now I use HTC IME
