imo, the safe choice would be a 04-07 base impreza 2.5 wagon. get a manual one. its slow, but its cheap, practical, reliable, has awd and 5 star crash rating. the "G" depending on year has various degrees of engine and or transmission problems. a lot of them are coming out of warranty too. so thats something to think about. a g35x would be interesting. the awd is setup similar to the older gtr. |
maxing out the use of your money for a car is not very smart buy a cheap reliable car and use the rest for more important stuff such as tuition, food, clothes, rent, fun, etc. instead of looking "baller" In the beginning it will be cool and all but it will lose novelty and in the end its gonna be A to B which u can do with a base civic or corolla. but if u really like it for yourself and not to show off and if you wont drive it often, then get it man |
a bit off topic.... but what are you guys' thoughts on the new Mazda 3 hatch? |
get the G and be happy. find one with less than 100k and be happier |

dun get a G or rather infiniti please...their fit and finish is a joke specially when their pricing is so close to a Euro. just play around with the push and open cabinets in the car, then go to a mercedes, bmw, audi etc and try the same thing. Night and day. |

oh god these responces hurt my fucking brain. be a man not a pussy and get yourself a real car! get a RWD SPORTS CAR WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION, period. Just get the car you want, you don't need to buy a POS, that's why you drive 1 year with learners licence for. |
I'm not sure if the G35s had coil packs issues, but the VQ engines in the first few years had poorly designed coil packs which would fail prematurely. |

$20-30g depending year and condition :) |
what year g35 were u thinking of getting? -gas costs about $80-85 for a tank at the moment (91oct) -i own a 03, with 90000km...no serious issues besides squeaking noises here and there -recently, i just went through brakes/rotors change, costs an ARM and a LEG...but i have brembos -my driver seat is starting to squeak when i make turns -make sure u get any used car inspected befor purchasing and also get a icbc history report on it -for insurance, i spent just a little over 2grand on 40% discount |
get a FWD car then in 2-3 years get a nicer RWD G. Chances are, if it's your first car, you're going to do something stupid in it, and it's better to do something stupid in a FWD car than RWD. But if your not going to be an idiot, a G35 is pretty nice. |

i'm not a student anymore....just graduated. dunno why it says i joined in 2007...maybe i did back then too. but i just signed up again and had my account approved. i always use this username for things so somehow maybe things got linked up. weird. i wanted a bit of a luxury car too, but also a bit of practicality there. that's why i'm looking at the g35 sedan not the coupe. |
