So really who among us would actually give up driving in hopes to save the planet?
I gave up my car and been relying on my bicycle and U-pass to get around.

How about you?

Wow i cant believe its this bad but then again how can it not be? In my opinion this will be an impossible clean up and eventually the oil will be all over the ocean.

its not easy to give up creature comforts...

my plan is to purchase an electric vehicle when its available. vote with your wallets.. after all, money is the ultimate driving force. make it profitable for companies to go green.

Not going to give up my vehicle, but plan on commuting to work on a bike. Just trying to decide which one to get...

3 reasons you should ride a bike,

1 - Save money
2 - Get in shape
3 - Less of a carbon footprint

So when you have a date or going out with friends you are going to ride your bike everytime? Are you really going to tell your dates you are riding a bike and you have to be home before 10 coz it gets dark and you can't see? What about when it is winter and is snowing or raining? Will you be riding your bike then? Or what if you can grocery shopping will you be using bike to carry all the food and stuff you purchase?

Sorry to make it sound like I am against you but in Vancouver where transit sucks (30mins for a bus skytrain stops at around 12:30am on weekends and holidays), where if you have to work in another city etc etc..... riding a bike or taking the bus is just not good enough.

Sure I mean if you live near the mall, aren't going out at night, don't have a date work is close/can take bus then yea that's great. But how many people are like that?

Giving up driving is just too hard for most people. See with the weather this hot I could say for example drive to a swimming pool after dinner and stay cool. If I were to take a bus or ride a bike it would take maybe 30mins to get there and I would be all sweaty and hot when i arrive and same thing if I go home after. What if I feel like going out to a friend house at night? Is it worth it to wait 30mins for a bus to come or ride a bike?

Simply 90% of the people will go "AWWW this is bad" blah blah blash but no one will really do anything since is too hard to give up on driving. Like it or people in Vancouver needs to drive. Only other way to reduce is to drive a hydrid car(expensive) or car pool or wait till electric car becomes affoortable or efficent.

this is all Obama's fault. if you believe in the NWO then you know they are prepping for 2012. BP oil spill is just the tip of the iceberg.
