some people insist on tipping 15% or maybe even 20%. It's kind of funny, because they think they're all hotshit when they brag about tipping that much... When I just think they're fools that are wasting money. lol |
I can see that OP is on the other side with a calculator trying to see if you guys got your math correct. |

How about people tipping 15%+ because the service was good? I'm sure a lot of folks in the service industry make their survival on decent tips. Does someone need to post that scene from Reservoir Dogs, again? Sorry for keeping this OT, but this thread was derailed long ago. |

Its going to hurt the industry for a bit, until people forget about this crap in a few months. |

Orange Julius @ Richmond center...where I work small orange julius (pre-HST) $3.72 x 1.05 = $3.90 small orange julius (HST): it should be $3.72 x 1.12 = $4.1664 but its now $3.75 x 1.12 = $4.20. oh yeah..my manager is asian..so yeah. :p |
2 packs of smokes before $19.75. now $21.84. 10.6% increase(smokes had gst already). also the lady even told me that certain Esso charges more now to hide the increase. but i only noticed because i bought 2 packs right after hst and was below $21 and now she even said she works at 2 essos and that one i bought from up'd the price even more compared to other one she works at. |

I gotta quit smoking now. |
Chinese food at UBC village: before 2 items: $5.50 after 2 items: $6.25 IMO, the HST was not only for a tax increase, but as well as an increase in prices in general. It was the perfect way for businesses to increase their product prices without having the customers bitching. |

Mr. Pink?! Is that you?? http://www.s-cnet.ne.jp/%7Escn01448/...es/mr.pink.jpg |
I cut down on all overpriced outside food now. $6 for a cooked hot dog after tax? $5 for a small little lunch sandwich that doesn't make you full? lol... If businesses raise their prices to take advantage of us customers, that just makes me not buy from them. I make my food from scratch now. Buy flour to make bread, no pathetic HST. |
*edit nvm.. me need to buy flour more often |

^^ I believe there is HST on bread that has chocolate or other stuff on it. |
|
^ wtf? isnt that liek 24% then |
It's pro-rated I think. The monthly bill doesn't go from the first to the last day of each month, it overlaps a bit. |
i get delivery from hon's on robson alot and i noticed the price went up as well + hst. i have the 2 menu's side by side and the base prices went up. i think orange 7 is right about Quote:
