^ I personally don't like the D3100. I'd only buy it, if you like the SIZE of it. It's a very very small camera. If you're interesting in a camera that's somewhat more substantial and you KNOW that you will commit to photography a little bit, get a used D90. If you're SURE you just want some snapshots and you have no interest in photography, just want to make some nice images here and there without thinking too much about buying lenses, etc, the D3100 is a good camera. |
^ I am more a part time photography person. So thats why I am looking for a step up from point and shoot but not one thats going to break the bank and not be so tecky to understand. I wouldnt buy lens's I would probably just be happy with what comes with the camera. I understand that if I was more fully into it like you then the D90 would be a better option. Its more a side hobby then a full time hobby. |
Well in that case.. D3100 would be fine. Or the D3000. Or a D60/D40/D40x |
