Is the GPS issue fixed with the Galaxy phones? I might pick up a Captivate next weekend while I'm in San Fran to replace my Milestone.

I don't think samsung has put out an official fix yet

There are no major differences other than the body style, number of buttons, and front camera on the vibrant. Network wise they're the same.

Gorilla Glass is on the SGS.

^yep. just a heads up to ppl looking to buy the bell version, if youre gonna be flashing your phone with custom roms, make sure u get one with the 3 button recovery mode. Some earlier batches of SGS have it disabled.

How do you know which version is which?

There's a lot of talk about which batch of serial numbers are good and a nother set bad. The best way is to ask the rep to test it before buying.

Anyways, unlocked two SGS's last night. Frickin' easy as shit. I also donated to the people who made it happen. Such an awesome phone!!!!

EDIT: Donated to the people who made the script that fetches the unlock code from the phone ... just to be clear. Haha

Any idea how much the Vibrant is without contract?

I so want to get this phone since I hate my E71.

Vibrant is $500+taxes and fees. Best bet is hit FS or BB 'cause most Bell stores won't sell without plans.

Samsung Galaxy is $560 after taxes. $60 bucks in HST.

Anyways, I unlocked a few Galaxy's but I cannot get the right APN settings to work with Rogers. Both phones were from Bell. Anyone unlock and get the right APN settings to work with the S on Rogers?

So I see it's just a complete clone of the At&t one as predicted...

middle of september is what i was told when i asked the samsung rep.
it will be the same as att ones..
we played with att ones with rogers software on them

overall, pretty snappy, the meat of this phone is the screen, it is FOR SURE the screen, its so nice

but as you can see, the colors and contrast on the SUPER AMOLED is amazing when placed beside the iphone4. this was done on a substandard camera of a nexus one as well

What's the battery life like? The samsung screen looks awesome but does it drain the battery lot?
