threezero | 07-24-2010 08:43 PM | Cant really speak for the other cars that SR do. But FX is what i have and it is the platform i have done the most study on. here's what SR did http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4093/...e494a048c2.jpg
painted vent, grill and STOCK lower moulding. Rims + brembo. There is only 2 exhaust system design specifally for the fx out right now, Invidia + Borla. As far as i can tell the SR fx is running stock. Also quite a few bodykits out already, it is harder to source but that the job of such $$$$$ tuner shop right? nope just powercoat the stock mouldings. At the price that SR charges, I can imagine the owner of the fx paid a pretty penny for some minor cosmetic upgrades. There might be some work done under the hood but i seriously doubt it seeing i have never seen custom work came out of SR just bolt ons and there is non for the FX atm.
Here's what other people are able to come up with the FX. This is arguable the most souped up one in the FX community but its is also imo what a high end tuner shop like SR is suppose to be able to achieve. http://www.tuningwerkscompetition.co...des2.jpg&w=600 http://www.tuningwerkscompetition.co...et13.jpg&w=600 http://www.tuningwerkscompetition.co...et_4.jpg&w=600 http://www.tuningwerkscompetition.co...et10.jpg&w=600
Granted it is a first gen and there are alot more bolt ons available. but almost all of the work on the blue fx is custom. Custom interior, custom widebody, custom twin turbo long ass list. Seems like what SR is doing is just what alot of cars guy are already doing to their ride with no help from a shop. imo one of the reason you pay a shop such premium is because it is capable of producing custom works like the fx above.
no every car out of SR has to be like that, but i mean.. at least have 1 or 2 cars that showcase the shop's uniqueness. So far everything from SR is cookie cutter rides, slap on the most basic parts avoid and having to be creative and fabricate something themselves. And than charge an outrageous price isn't good business ethnic for the scene. As one of the few exclusive highend shop in the city, the product they've put out is truly disspointed. Look at shops like $$$$$$$$$ Custom, sure they might built some ride that are plain weird and wacky somethings but they demonstrate that they have the ability to be unique. something SR have yet to do. Props for them to be able to hook up with people that are willing to spending a whole lot of not very much product. But the props stops there, no eprops on their car builiding ability. What they are actually charging for their high prices is for them to help you pick out bolt on parts, if you need other work done they help you contact some1 else and of course service fees for making that phone call. Only worth it if you are ppl like mqr03 who have more imaginary money than brain matters |
