Sushi Direct

I love me some sushi.
Most of the time, I just head out to get my sushi crave, cause I'm craving other stuff like BC Rolls, tempura and motoyaki as well.

But, Is there's ever a time you want to just sit back and pound back plates of tuna sashimi?
I get some sushi tuna from my grandparents sometimes, but it's not nearly as often as I like.

Do you guys get your stuff from the suppliers and just do the slicing yourself?

Also, have you guys found a supplier for fresh wasabi?
I've been looking, but still can't find myself a source

I go to Angel Seafoods on Grant St & Clark Dr. They are a restaurant supplier, but they do have a retail store if you go in the front door. They do have fresh wasabi sometimes, but you'll have to ask for it. I'm not even sure they'll sell it to you if you're not a restaurant. I can because as an ex-chef I still know everyone there, and they still sell me anything I want at restaurant prices.

The Asian store at the Granville Island Public Market sells fresh wasabi.
