just wondering,
if one day, the north koreans learn about how life is outside of their country, would they be able to come together and over turn the government?

It's a shame that all those otherwise beautiful and intelligent people have been turned into fucking morons from the moment they are born.
TOPEC one would hope, but they have done a good job of stifling them (because of what I mentioned above). They are literally ignorant morons because of how they are raised. The extent of their knowledge is: Kim Jong Il is to be revered, and Americans are Imperialist Scum.

If you guys are interested, travel show host Scott Wilson and Justin Lukach from OLN's Departures TV show ( http://departuresentertainment.com/about.html) had two episodes documenting their travels in DPRK. It's an obviously a one sided documentary (Pro DPRK) as they were led by tour guides and restricted what they could film the whole time. Regardless, the documentary provides a rich point of view rarely seen from the rest of the world and perfectly depicts one of the last remaining untouched cultures from globalization. Season 3 is not available on their online store yet ( http://departuresentertainment.com/shopping.html) but you can track down the torrents episodes 12-13. http://departuresentertainment.com/e...ep11-ep15.html
Episode 12: North Korea - The Other Side
Scott and Justin are prepared for perhaps their greatest adventure to date, providing them with a rare glimpse inside the borders of this isolated country. From Beijing, they depart to Pyongyang with an Englishman named Nick – an outsider with unprecedented access to the country. Meeting up with their local guides, Chae and Kim, the team visits many historical and political sights, learning the local perspective on world events, and gaining a much greater understanding of the country. An evening cruise down the Taedong River begins to cement a solid friendship between the guys and their guides.
Episode 13: North Korea - The Musical
North Koreans are a fiercely proud and creative people. North Korea continues to completely defy all expectations, as Scott and Justin take part in a high school English class, are pulled into numerous musical performances, visit a water bottling factory, a farm and an old funfair. Their experiences are capped off by the largest and most impressive choreographed spectacle on earth – the Arirang Mass Games – where 100,000 people perform the ultimate homage to their country and ideologies. The guys are sad to leave their trusted guides and friends behind when they depart by train back to Beijing.

This is followed by a very biased statement that I have heard and read "North Korea is very culturally driven, and these state run tours for foreigners are usually show off the pride of Korean Culture"
In fact, a few of my friends have said that most of the more traditional beliefs are the same throughout Korea.
Regardless of the fact is that North Koreans will always believe what they are living in is the norm of life.
