Richmond Indoor Paintball

http://shockentertainment.ca/en/
Located on Westminster and Elmbridge in Richmond, the field and location is awesome. They're open from 12PM straight through until 12AM every day. (Including holidays!)

Was just there today at Richmond Indoor Paintball, and I kicked a LOT of ass!
It's a great indoor field of about 25,000+ sq ft in total.
The staff was awesome, the gear was great (for those in my party who rented), and the game types they allowed were excellent!

The rates were even better, considering everything the field has to offer.
For the early session, it's $25 unlimited from 12-7PM (not including rentals and paint), but if it's a slow day, they let you play for however long.
Fortunately, our party was there when there were no other players, so it was very relaxed, and we took our time in between games.

An average rental with unlimited time from 12-7 would cost about $50 to start, and paint would be anywhere between $15-$100 extra (depending how trigger happy you are). The rental gear can vary depending on what extras you want, whether you want some gloves, a pistol, or even a radio. The gear itself isn't rancid, unlike other indoor/woodsball arenas I've gone to, where the gear was in the shits.

They've been open since April 2010, and so far, I'm impressed! I'm happy Richmond finally has an accessible field open year round, and late!

Anyone been? :thumbsup:

Edit: Clarified a little more. (Sorry. Was rushed a little)

Cool, looks interesting.

Never been paintballing before but I never knew it was that cheap!

FN-2199 08-02-2010 06:48 PM

Well, that's the field fee, then rentals are $25. Then you have to pay for paintballs as well!

yikes!!! plus rental. 25. thats almost a bill

neggo 08-02-2010 08:50 PM

Heh, yeah, I just realized that after going through the site more thoroughly.

Reardless, though, it seems fun to try.

Lol you beat me to this thread. I wanted to do a 411 thread on it.

How's the field? Seems a bit pricey though. Both balls and entrance fee are more $$ than other local fields.

It's a little pricey, but they offer long hours, they're open everyday, and the field is excellent. Lots of gametypes to play in that field.

Your post is extremely misleading because you have no mention of the paintball prices.

van19 08-02-2010 10:35 PM

So how much is everything total, all the gear/paintsballs/rental etc ? How long do you get to play for ?

Sorry. Was rushed a bit and just blitzed through my post. I clarified a little more.

All in all, you can look to spend anywhere between $50-200. It all depends on how much paint you want in the end. The bare minimum to spend with basic gear, unlimited play time, and 100 paintballs is $65.
By unlimited play time, they let you play as long as you want from 12PM - 7PM. Just make sure you have enough paint.

rsx 08-02-2010 11:29 PM

$25 Weekend field fee
$25 Rental Fee

$50 to start with no bullets.

* $15 for 100 Rounds
* $28 for 200 Rounds
* $55 for 500 Rounds
* $100 for 1000 Rounds
* $180 for 2000 Rounds

van19 08-02-2010 11:43 PM

So how many rounds do you use on average for say just an hour ?

rsx 08-02-2010 11:47 PM

Can you elaborate on the gameplay, is it like cqb, it looks like warehouse setting style.

Maps, settings?

vafanculo 08-02-2010 11:50 PM

Oh how long do games last? Respawn or sit out?

I'm gonna check it out during the wk

Their field is like a modern warehouse kind of thing, has like some beat-up cars and stuff. Looks pretty cool. :p

You can find their video on their facebook/youtube page.

FN-2199 08-02-2010 11:57 PM

^^^ It's all dependant on what type of game types are played. Generally, they'll ask you want you'd want to play, which would usually be team deathmatch, capture the flag, or even timed 10 minute games of conquest.
The staff even suggested that at night time, zombies would be possible to play at their field.

The layout of the field is definitely warehouse style, with two storey buildings inside, cars, a small park, jails, etc.

Generally, a game of deathmatch would last around 10-15 mins. In an hour, you could probably squeeze in about 4 games.
We had 8 people today, and in 2 hours, we managed to get around 6 games. 2 deathmatch, 2 ten-minute conquest, 2 ten-minute king of the hill. We could have stayed longer, but our 1000 paintballs ran out, and we also had some other plans for the night.

van19 08-03-2010 12:00 AM

Is there an age requirement there ?

skyxx 08-03-2010 12:21 AM

Don't forget, their markers are MilSig Markers. For 10 dollars more you can have a secondary weapon (Pistol). :D

Alpine50 08-03-2010 12:47 AM

Twassen seems cheaper, for big groups

That sounds really expensive.

I live in Richmond....for me though, its worth the drive to N. Vancouver.

hal0g0dv2 08-03-2010 09:21 AM

is the same place behind rush net bar that closed a few years ago

& for that price i might as well go to n.van

kluk 08-07-2010 09:12 PM

for non-marker owners this place is hella expensive. You're probably looking at around 80-100$ every time you go. I guess its a nice place to go and check out once but if anyone is thinking of doing this long term i suggest you go to north shore paintball..
