-$171.08 | The motherboard you selected does not support the Triple Channel Memory Kit you picked. There is no AMD motherboard that support triple channel memory. Choose a cheaper dual channel kit. I recommend staying away from the OCZ Gold series. Read the reviews at NewEgg for the failure rate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-540-_-Product |

Gskill ram is pretty good for the price. Either go 4gb ot 8gb.
Also, price match your items from ncix like pricebat.ca
Ie your mobo sells for 110 on newegg and your dvd drive you can get for 19 from anitec Posted via RS Mobile |

I would try to find a set of RAM that operated at a lower voltage than the 1.7V of the Corsair that you selected. The standard voltage of DDR3 is 1.5V. RAM that run at higher voltages imply that they are already being overclocked, and will probably have less headroom. It will take about a hour of research to find see what's available. G.Skill is a good brand.

Just a note on the WD Caviar Black if you care about PC "silence". The thing runs loud (i.e. vibrates heavily). I already have it decoupled from the case via silicone dampers but the case still resonates. It is the loudest component in my case right now. I'm trying to find a way to suspend it but the drive cage in my case is pretty tight...

I have the 1TB WD Black and it makes almost no noise 2 feet away from my ear (sits on top of the desk) ...
Maybe your case is just a piece of shit ...

or maybe your ears are a piece of shit?
I was only noting this for people who, quote: "care about 'silence'".... For the average to gaming-oriented user, the noise this drive makes is probably overshadowed by loud, fast, high CFM case fans, GPU HSF, CPU HSF, PSU fan, etc. But all my fans are running ~700RPM and are inaudible, thus making the HDD stand out, especially during seek.
It's a good, quick drive. It just runs a lot louder than the WD Green and Samsung F3.

The fastest fan in my case at idle is 900 RPM (Graphics Card); my HSF operates at 500 RPM @ idle and my case fans operate @ 750 RPM ... The loudest part of my computer outside of gaming (where I wear headphones or have the speakers turned up, anyways) is the front case fan which operates @ 750 RPM ... I guess that's loud ? Besides that, you said it was resonating, which would indicate it's a problem with the case, not the drive. If your case were GOOD, it would not RESONATE ...
Try again, bud ...
