Signs That Summer is Coming to an End

The days are definitely getting shorter
Rain is in the forecast
The PNE is coming to town
The fireworks have come and gone
Indians are selling Fraser River sockeye
The obnoxious "Back to School" Staples (The Most Wonderful Time of the Year) commercial comes on

The nail in the coffin is when the Tim Horton's "falling leaf and chick freaking out" commercial comes on.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu................ ........

Things to look forward to................ the start of the 2010/2011 Canucks season. Go, Canucks, GO!!!!!

Considering that we had a July with virtually no precipitation, I'd say that we've had a pretty good run so far.

I woke up this morning to a clouded view of the North Shore Mountains because of smoke. The rest of BC is burning and only now are we seeing the results. :(

Guys, enjoy those short skirts while you can! :(

Summer always seem so short... it always goes by so quickly when you're having too much fun!
Enjoy it while it lasts! :)

Vancouver summers go too fast because it never really heats up and gets constantly sunny until July, and then by mid-August it's already winding down. So technically we only get 1.5 months of really nice summer weather. :(

Great68 08-03-2010 09:53 AM

You gotta make the most of it while it's here. I've been up in the Northwestern parts of Vancouver Island for the last 3 weekends straight :D The weather has been fantastic.

Yup, the weeks shortly before and after the solstice are still cooler and usually rainy.

I try to convince myself that summer starts at the beginning of June, when it's still light out at 9pm, just so when things start winding down at the end of August, I feel like I got some "value" out of it.

Look on the bright side, it's still sunny enough to go out and play tennis, ball hockey, football, etc. outside and not get totally cooked. On the rainy days, when people still want to get out, you can still get a decent BBQ going if you have a covered patio, then play a full table of poker.

And yes, pre-season in 7 more weeks!!!

Move to toronto.

This year's summer hasnt' been so bad. It's been a great riding season (for those of us who ride) and it hasn't been extremely hot neither, minus that one heat wave we get every year.

Unfortunately, we are paying for it with the forest fires. :(

Edit: Toronto summers - death.

!e.lo_ 08-03-2010 10:20 AM

yea I've noticed the days are a lot shorter now.
Also, the heat's gone. I wore jeans the other day, where as shorts were necessary the 2 week prior.
Oh well, at least we had fair weather and short skirts

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-03-2010 10:23 AM

didnt even turn on my AC once this year

Yep, summer doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon here. Too bad you spend half your time hiding inside from the high 30's low 40's heat and humidity.

TomBox_N 08-03-2010 10:58 AM

Life sucks when summer school occupies ur entire summer.

Damn, time flies. Already August so fast. Just gotta enjoy what remains of "summer".

Alatar 08-03-2010 12:04 PM

I've used my AC a few times this summer. Yep. Needed it in California.

that

hotjoint 08-03-2010 12:51 PM

I've used my ac in the house a few times this year. Its been a great summer so far. I'm just waiting for nhl and nba season to start :)

Harvey Specter 08-03-2010 01:07 PM

I used AC during the first week of July which seems so long ago. I think August is the worst month of the year because you know that summer is basically winding down.

Phil@rise 08-03-2010 01:11 PM

Holy hell guys one cloudy day and all the crying begins.

but I do hate that Timmies commercial.
