LOL, I love that he thinks there's "stuff" on it. Japanese swords have that line where the two types of steel meet...the pattern is usually from the clay the swordsmith spreads on the blade before the final forging or something. I think it's called the hamon.
That being said...it's probably just a fake sword so fake, added hamon in all likelihood.
