Good breakfast places in downtown? Anyone have any recommendations for a good place to have breakfast in downtown? And please don't say Dennys! |
this was mid 2000 and I'm not sure if it is still there but the Homer cafe had a great breakfast. If De Dutch is downtown that's always a great place for breakfast. |
If you have a thick skin, and don't mind being insulted by the wait staff, the Elbow Room on Davie & Seymour is a must. :) |
Cafe Medina on Beatty and Dunsmuir is not a bad choice. |
pauls omlettry on granville mmm omlettes |
+1 Cafe Medina |
i honestly dont mind the breakfast at cafe crepe. |
Joe's Grill on Davies+Burrard. Also got locations on W 4th and Denman Posted via RS Mobile |
DENNYS ! |
Central on Denman and Davie, the ONLY thing was... their potatos were left overs from the night before and i was reallyturned off by it... it's a hit and a miss for breakfsat in the morning at 10 AM on a Friday morning. |
+1 for Cafe Medina |
oh joyeux cafe across from sport chek/holts. They also have decent nammer. |
Medinas is good but its not your typical "breakfast" in my opinion. But if your looking for something different then go there. Lavender Latte + Waffles w/ Dark Chocolate are the best. Getting sick of the place though lol. Bellagio (Hornby & Smithe) is somewhat your typical breakfast. The portion is amazing especially for the price you pay. Subeez (Homer & Smithe) great breakfast there as well. |

VCC used to be very good. $2.90 for 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, hashbrowns and toast not sure what they are charging there now. |

Bump. Guys I need help. My colleague from HK this summer just came to Van and asked me to take him and his family out to Breakfast this Sat and Im totally stumped cause I never go out to have breakfast... I've read the suggestions above, but was thinking if there's anything else? Anywhere in vancouver/DT. Are there any places by the water with a nice view and decent food? I mean it's breakfast, so doesn't have to be too fancy. TIA. |
Chill Winston, on sundays? Haven't been there in ages but from what i alst remember it was pretty good.. |
Try The Dockside Restaurant at the Granville Island Hotel. Kill two birds with one stone since it's a tourist attraction. There's also Marmalade Kitchen & Bar on the other side of the water under the Burrard Bridge. Call ahead in advance to make sure breakfast/brunch is served. |
I don't like Medina, but that's cuz I went there expecting the most epic waffles I've ever had. It wasn't. It was small, stale, and not what reviews would lead you to believe. Brunch was decent, but their mediocre (to me) food combined with the hour-long queue are enough to keep me from going back. I'd prefer milestones, personally. Breakfast/Brunch buffets at the hotels are REALLY good, but pricey. If you have time, there's a really good breakfast joint on Lonsdale just a few blocks north of esplanade. It's not downtown, but there isn't much 'walking' involved to get there if you're already downtown. |
There's a japanese place around bute and robson called konbinya. Awesome little place to get some unique crepes from. Also they have those little california hand cones for lunch. this place has a pretty large selection of japanese junk food. It's not that cheap but it's got the variety. |
