is the 2012 new civic a complete face lift or just some minor changes?

TheSalesman 08-22-2010 10:38 PM

^ complete facelift
It was supposed to be 2011 but they delayed it for 1 year.

my friend is 1 of the 2 people who ordered one at richmond honda. it's currently backordered as dealerships are being limited to 2 per month (according to my salesman buddy).

Saw a middle aged white guy driving one on the mary hill bypass headed the opposite direction yesterday morning. The front doesnt look bad at all, in fact to me it was pretty eye catching

Saw a white one on the Alex Fraser bridge last week.. It doesn't look good in pictures but in motion it looks quite attractive. Unfortunately it comes off as quite a large car :(

Alright, I don't post here any more, but I gotta step in on this one because this is one car's really made an impression on me; moreso, in fact, than 99% of all the other cars I've ever tested.

I've been driving a CR-Z for the past couple weeks as a journalist, and basically, it's absolutely awesome. It's quite nearly perfect, gets phenomenal gas mileage, doesn't look like a dork/chick-mobile like so many other hybrids, and is pretty fun to drive. Don't bother with econ or normal mode though, if anyone here takes one for a test drive, just leave it in sport! I published a full review here, and excuse the stock photography, my camera's back from the repair shop today and I plan to snap a few of the CR-Z later!

all the ones I saw are white. does it come in any other colors?

Spectre_Cdn 08-26-2010 11:45 AM

^ Red and blue I think. So yeah... white is the obvious choice lol.

TheSalesman 08-26-2010 11:59 AM

There is no red.
The 3 color choices are white, gray and blue.

gilly 08-26-2010 01:07 PM

Any chance of a type R version or a more powerful model in the future?

orange7 08-26-2010 07:11 PM

^

hopefully there will be a type R version that isn't a hybrid

TheSalesman 08-26-2010 08:17 PM

yes I am sure.
You can even check the honda website.

Article in the local paper claims Canada is only getting 500 cars for this year.

spoon.ek9 08-26-2010 08:46 PM

my only complaint about this car is the giant blind spots heh. nothing a wink mirror/broadyway wide angle can't solve tho :D

my biggest complaint is no rear seats

Was 1983 Z28 08-27-2010 12:08 AM

Yes, only three colours in Canada (hence my comment about the camera); white, blue and grey. The US gets five colours; white, grey, black, blue, and red. I wish they'd expanded the palette a bit because I would have loved to see the old Type-R yellow come back on this thing... as I would have a whole myriad of primary and fluorescent colours!

RabidRat 08-27-2010 12:19 AM

Yeah my two main complaints:
-no back seats
-ginormous blind spots

too_slow 08-27-2010 06:49 AM

And no Audi-esque front LED DRLs! I saw quite a few in Japan last week and it's quite a head turner in person.. I wonder how the weight distribution would change if you were to remove the IMA equipment..

Was 1983 Z28 08-27-2010 10:02 AM

Not by much, the motor is tiny and mounted between the engine and transmission, and the battery weighs something like 15 to 20 pounds underneath the trunk.

And there definitely are blind spots, but I'd say they're no worse than what you get from the 370Z, btw.

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-27-2010 11:17 AM

my biggest complaint is no power
