I get 2 days also. Typically 30-60mins worth of calls, some BBM and texting, 40-50 emails and quite a bit of browsing daily. I use Google Maps sparsely and have Lookout running.

i get 2 days as well. i barely make/get calls, maybe one or 2 a day. bbm and text lots, email, some web browsing and facebook is always running. i use poynt here and there.

2 days????? mine just died 30 minutes ago at 7:30 pm and i had it on charge overnight

mb_ 12-17-2010 07:44 PM

Mine will last about 2 days as well before I HAVE to charge it. With that being said, I charge it overnight if I need it to be on for the whole day. This is with moderate fb/twitter/internet when I'm awake and a bit more than that with bbm/text

Just picked up the 9780 but I can't open the fucking battery cover. It's slippery as fuck -_-

Bonka 12-22-2010 10:45 PM

With the battery cover side facing up, slide it open with your palm :)

6insomnia9 12-23-2010 01:42 AM

You get that because it's new ;p

Just wondering but what twitter app do you guys use? Twitter for Blackberry or something else like UberTwitter?

Ok I dont know how you guys are getting 2 days on 3G, there's just no way unless you're barely touching your phone. Even with my 9700 on 3G I couldnt get 2 days.

However if I switch to edge I can easily get 2.5 days out of it with moderate browsing/bbm/texting

6insomnia9 12-23-2010 11:46 AM

Lol like i said, i have no apps basically.

jeedee 12-23-2010 12:14 PM

lol thanks for the advice, finally got it open.

I just need a site to unlock the 9780 any advice? Tried berrymods, and I don't really feel like waiting to be picked randomly to get my phone unlocked @ CrackBerry.

!Yaminashi 12-23-2010 12:14 PM

If any of you guys like to be speedy and get things done quick on your berry, I urge you to get Quicklaunch. I just bought it on sale and its awesome.
Best $3 I ever spent

Fuck my life cracked the screen on my 9780 anyone know where I can get a replacement? Is it different then the 9700 screen?

Should be the exact same screen. JP cellular should be able to fix it easy for you

I find the biggest drain on the battery is when you're browsing when the 3G signal is weak or if the signal is weak in general. If your phone is switching between 3G and EDGE that'll kill your battery.

Do you have many programs running in the background?

9780 > 9800 !! I'll never go back to that touch screen piece of shit, excuse for a bb :@

Nope, all I have is buzzme and quicklaunch.
Although I do have facebook and twitter and those update every so often

When I'm on EDGE I can easily get 2 days. Its amazing how much of a drain 3G is :(

ws6ta 12-25-2010 10:43 AM

okay so i put a small crack in the corner of my screen a couple of days ago. you can mostly only see it with a white/light background. you can't feel the crack on the top plastic its the actual lcd.

the trackpad is kinda messing up on the phone (before I even cracked it). I called rogers and they agreed to send me a new phone. Now if I change the screen will they know I opened the phone? Should I just send in the phone with a crack in the screen? should I call them and tell them the screen cracked a tiny bit before I send it out? I literally only used this phone for 1 week before it broke lol

ScizzMoney 12-25-2010 11:51 AM

tell them it must have cracked during shipping if they call you on it.

Got this right before the new year and am absolutely loving it! Keeping the wifi turned off for the most part though or the battery drains fast!

LsquareD 01-04-2011 04:17 PM

has anyone tried this on 9780?

BT 01-05-2011 11:37 PM
