i go home, put my sim card in it, and click import sim contacts.

what ends up happening? contacts i deleted YEARS ago are now in my phone book..and pretty much anyone added within the past 2 years are no longer there...is there any way i can import ALL my contacts back??!?! i need some of those numbers that are no longer there...

did you ever back up your phone with desktop manager?

what's happening is blackberry's don't save their contacts on sim it's all on the phone all the contacts you have now is from the sim.

what you need to do (if you have a backup) is to plug it in to the computer and click restore with the latest backup.

IF you don't have a backup, sorry.

think you might be out of luck.

you should use google sync from now on. it syncs your contacts with a gmail account.

Sorry to thread steal but I have a problem too. I have no clue why my bold 9000 is so glitchy. Sometime it charges sometime it doesn't. And I've tried using computer cable.. For a few times now it stopped working. Any suggestions? Tia

is the usb port on the berry dirty?
are you using the same usb port on the computer (some computer usb doesn't supply power)?
why don't you use a charger?

It sounds like OP just got the Blackberry so I don't think he'll have a DM backup.

I don't have an iPhone so I can't tell you for sure, but aren't your contacts in iTunes as well? Wouldn't you be able to export them out of iTunes and import them into a program of your choice (DM in this case)?

I don't think any smart phone out there stores numbers on the SIM anymore.

There's a good chance that your charging port is faulty. My original Blackberry Curve ran into that issue as with my co-worker's Bold 9000. Take it to a shop to have it insepcted and/or repaired.

I work in the industry so I was lucky that RIM repaired it for me for free.

I would guess anywhere between $20 to $60? I would suggest going to JP Cell Repair.

your iphone probably stored the contacts on the phone, and not the SIM.
I don't know what state your iphone is, but if you can get it to turn on, you can setup itunes to sync your contacts with outlook, then sync your blackberry with outlook.

PS: Let this be a lesson learned. You should always backup your contacts, or if you're lazy and have a data plan, sync over the air with a Google account or a similar service.
