Symphonic Metal

I'm just curious what is out there. I've already dipped somewhat into the genre with Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica and Manowar, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding some good groups out there. I guess anything that combines symphonic with progressive, gothic and power metal works just as well also.

For those unsure what I'm talking about, here are some samples:

Nightwish's "Wish I had An Angel"

Epica's "Never Enough"

Within Temptation's "Stand My Ground"

Any suggestions?

The 3 you posted would have been my suggestions.

Kamelot is a bit heavier, but would probably still suffice for your tastes.

Ayreon and Stream of Passion are the others I listen to.

What's the rest of your music collection like?

Blind Guardian, Nevermore & Arcturus would be my recommendations for some of the best the genre has to offer. For particular albums, I would try The Godless Endeavor (Nevermore), A Night at the Opera (Blind Guardian) and the The Sham Mirrors (Arcturus)

Thanks, I'll check those out as well.

It's a cluster fuck of a mix. Just a quick glance through my list will show everything from Abba to Tiesto to Mcgraw to Five Finger Death Punch to Gob and DMX. Hell, I've even got bluegrass country in there somewhere...
