SMH more police bs. although its not out city, still.. |
to be honest ... we need police like this in vancouver we need the police officers to write more tickets to cyclist who doesnt wear helmet and dont follow the traffic rule |
just fuckin cooperate......i remember at the olympics me and like 5 buddies were peeing in different corners (no homo) of a building and the officer gave my 5 buddies tickets because they werent cooperating and kept saying this is bullshit, fuckin pigs etc and they gave the officer wrong names and when the officer got there ID she got even more pissed....me on the other hand just handed over my id and said i was sorry and that it will never happen again. bam saved myself from a 200 dolla ticket |
I don't really see a problem with anything the officer did, in fact good for him for not putting up with the critical mass bullshit. The officer witnessed a traffic violation, so he was allowed to lawfully detain the guy. Florida bicycle law regarding roadway position: Roadway Position (see Section 316.2065, F.S.)
Cyclists do have the right to the roadway, in fact in some States, if there is a bike lane they must keep to the bike lane. If there isn't a bike lane they must keep as far to the right as possible and not impede or block traffic. A motor vehicle could also get a ticket for impeding or blocking traffic as well. These cyclist clearly where impeding and blocking traffic so the tickets and lawful detainment was well deserved. They had their own designated bike lane however they all road blocking the traffic lanes. The officer also clearly asked several times for them to move over to the bike lane and stop impeding traffic only to be ignored. |
Couldn't agree more with the officer and his actions. |
If I was a police officer I wouldn't want to deal with this kind of BS. What an unfortunate waste of time. The police officer handled the situation with quite the patience. |

buncha retarded cyclists riding in the middle of the road with no helmets, blocking traffics, disobeying police officer's instruction to pull over, non-stop whining... the only thing wrong in the video is that the police should've pulled over and ticket as many of them as they could. |
Man thats like FUCKING 100000 POINTS IF YOU HIT THEM ALL! |
I was waiting for him to gas the pedal and run over them. |
Good job police. |
Probably would have just gotten off with a warning if he had just followed what the police said and move over into the bike lane instead of being a smart ass. |
The cyclist is so high and mighty, if the cop is telling you to pull over you pull over, not saying "what's wrong? and keep going" This reminds me of cyclists in this city, on the sidewalk, running red lights, riding through pedestrian crosswalks etc. and at least half the cyclists on our streets don't wear helmets, yaletown especially |
I fucking hate cyclists. i was coming out from a side street/alley and I stopped and creeped slowly as there were parked cars on both sides. and this cyclists blasts right in front/past me and slams on her brakes (prob thought i was gna hit her) and started airing me out. like wtf... u have just as much responsibility to make sure intersections are clear before crossing. I also see so many fucking dumbass cyclists running stop signs. They think they're king shit on the road and some how everyone owes them the right of way all the time, even if they're breaking laws. reality check motherfuckers, I'm in a car. I wouldn't be the one acting like a careless shithead on the road. |
Its like the saying goes " Pedestrians hate drivers, Drivers hate Pedestrians but EVERYBODY hates Cyclists " |
cyclists want everyone else to yield to them as a pedestrian yet want to ride on the road with automobiles.. you can only have it one way. |
*slow clap* |
I guess RS member johny was visiting Orlando recently. http://www.revscene.net/forums/next-...+critical+mass |
Hm, revelation. Something RS kids hate more than cops, cyclists. |
There are several problems with cycling and cyclists. The first and biggest problem is that modern north american roadways were not designed for anything other than pedestrians or cars. Even bike lanes are just accomodations for bikes using existing roadways. Because our roads system have never needed to accomodate a large volume of bicycles, and because we view bicycling as a recreational activity rather than a serious mode of mass transit, we have never explored (properly or otherwise) a permit or licensing system for either bicycle riders nor their bicycles. We have no way to find out if any of them have learned or are aware of the rules of the road. We have no practical way to track or make complaints of bicyclists who ride on our roads. Some people may bring up bike couriers as an exception, due to their plate system, but I have never seen bike courier plates except when their bikes are locked up in front of a building. Critical mass served a purpose--raising awareness. It now serves a second one; raising ire. When the world fire and police games were here, critical mass went through the downtown core, and cops and firefighters were right next to a friend of mine. They said "What the hell is this? Why isn't anything happening?". This is a question people ask themselves and others all the time. Critical mass had its place--not the best place, but a place. An idea and area for people who bicycle to meet and raise awareness. In theory it was a way to let people know that bicyclists need to share the road as well, and to bring to the fore how many bicyclists there are in the lower mainland. Unfortunately, Critical Mass has now turned into a "we're a chaotic organization of individuals which means we can ride around wherever we want without a permit disrupting traffic, livelihoods and lives wherever we go, and we get a police escort!" Bicyclists have been given bike lanes in two major arterial routes, and will soon be given another one (Hornby or Howe, I can't remember) and claim that this is still insufficient--that more promotion is needed. Yet, whenever bike month comes and police officers "ticket" riders (I put ticket in brackets because they are given warning tickets; "If we had caught you for this, you would have to pay $x") they claim they are being unfairly targeted and punished because "Cars are bigger and more dangerous--do you know how many times I've almost been killed?" Do I think bicyclists are getting a raw deal? Yes. Do I think the same of drivers and pedestrians? Absolutely. The driver/pedestrian/bicyclist adage is true--everyone hates bicyclists because they're the awkward middle child. We need to find a way to revamp the system to make it more fair for EVERYONE. |
^ they should do that during critical mass. ticket the fuckers. |
most cyclists think they have priority on the roads over actual MOTOR VEHICLES, and they ride as if they own the road, paying no attention to other cars or pedestrians. I don't know how many times I almost got hit by cyclists running red lights, riding on curbs, going in and out of pedestrian foot traffic, and etc. Fucking hate those losers. Bunch of self-serving hippies. If they were anywhere outside of these more liberal North American cities they'd be run over a million times already. |
what an annoying video. Who kept tapping the mic? Kept hearing this "puh puh puh puh" sound. Couldn't even finish watching it. maybe my sound system's bass is just too good. |

Simply put it this way. Bike his a pedestrian, both gets some scrapes and bruises. Car hits a bike, somebody is hospitalized, and I would LOL like heck if it was the guy driving the car. |
Thats what you get for being a smart ass. in all seriousness just act like a bitch and cooperate with cops, it is better than being a smart ass and pissing the cop off so they can find a reason to ticket you or make your day worst. |
i'm indifferent with the bike lanes and changes but i'm completely furious with a majority of cyclist. but then again i'm sure there are a ton of d-bag drivers out there as well. |
