I thought everyone boils their water. That shit comes from pipes!

SkinnyPupp 08-22-2010 06:41 AM

Paranoid C-Lais boil all their water. Normal folks don't unless there is a problem. I find water tastes fine after filtering it, no need to boil.

Berzerker 08-22-2010 07:12 AM

Boiling all your water? lol Killing all the germs in everything is what makes people get sick in the first place. Your body needs to learn how to fight shit on its own.

Berz out.

StylinRed 08-22-2010 07:35 AM

remember the story a few months ago that said our tap water is cleaner than some bottled water products? why would you boil it -_-

and the report tells you to boil the water you brush your teeth with as well btw and im pretty sure even clais dont do that

stewie 08-22-2010 07:59 AM

dang, dont you guys pay attention to all those city of burnaby trucks? they all have those big signs on em saying "drink your water, we have world class water" :)

FerrariEnzo 08-22-2010 08:10 AM

We have some of the cleanest water in the world, don't get why ppl are freaking out about something like this. Boiled water tastes gross.

Alby 08-22-2010 05:53 PM

we have the cleanest water in the world!

i don't know how true this is, but my profs at bcit says buying water is pouring your money down the drain. the source for the bottled water is the same source as our tap water. all they do to it is probably inject some minerals and maybe put the water through another filtration step which is probably ozonation.

Wtf?

Boiled water tastes the exact same thing as tap water. If you leave tap water so the chlorine is aired out, you can't tell a difference.

It's funny in my family. Everyone boils their water while I just fill it in from the tap.

Oh no, bottled water comes from the "French Alps" or "Hope Spring" *smirks*. Not that it'll make you magically lose 10% of your weight.

Reason why a lot of people buy bottled water is not because they know it tastes better or is healthier, it's because they're too damn lazy to fill up their own glass of water.

"Ugghh, I don't want to wash and fill this water bottle. Just gonna grab a bottle of water from the shelf."

It just tastes better. Some people can tell the difference between mineralized and demineralized water, and have a preference between the two, just like with flavouring for any other food/beverage product.

After coming back from Europe, I had never craved or been so thirsty for Vancouver's tap water. We definitely take it for granted.

asian_XL 08-22-2010 11:38 PM

this is what E coli looks like. I do believe our water is clean, but you never know what's inside the pipe.

^ E coli comes from shit. And they regularly test the water to make sure it's not contaminated, so unless you got rats in your pipes..

That's like saying eating shit will make you immune to the bacteria in shit.

If you are filtering water, you're just as paranoid as people who boil the water. Even more paranoid, I dare say.

JordanLee 08-23-2010 02:02 AM

Thank'd cause that picture of the badass bug is G.

I filter it because I'm too lazy to let it sit out to expel the chlorine taste (it takes 4 hours in direct sunlight to do so). Filtering does it immediately, and lets me keep water in the refrigerator immediately.

Nice try, but as usual, you fail

I know whats inside the pipe, water. Water running threw pipes 24/7 keeps them super clean.

AzNightmare 08-23-2010 03:23 AM

as long as it's not water from Mexico, I'm fine with it. seriously...

BaoXu 08-23-2010 04:46 AM

Filtering water (which drips so fucking slow) is a longer and more tedious process than boiling water.

FURTHERMORE the contraption, which you buy to filter water, is significantly more costly than a mere kettle, even an electric kettle
