I like the old design better, looks like they tried to hard.

I got to admit... that does look pretty ugly.

the thing i hate about mercedes is that they never have there own " thing" audi has the leds, bmw has the angel lights. mercedes just copies everyone.

Looks incredibly heavy.

Still prefer CL class

whats with the third rear brake light on the bottom now

CL is boossss

they need a new design team

You mean everyone copied the mirror signals that Mercedes had first.

Other cars have moved it there too.... maybe it is to copy racing cars? or a new European standard? dunno.

There isn't a single Mercedes design that is appealing to me anymore. They all look slightly odd, weird body lines, offset door handles, square lights on curvy bodies, ... even the SLS looks odd.

I'm waiting foe the new slk. Everyone said the r171 was ugly when it first came out. I'll reserve judgemet until I see 1 on the road. Sadly it's prolly driven by a clai so it'll never see it past 50km/hr

I hate narrow-minded people like you. Do you think everybody is copying everybody else because someone first had a car with 4 doors, turn signals, run-flat tires, xenons, etc? How about the automatic transmission? Should somebody feel slighted because it's seen in so many different makes now? Use your head.

Incorporating design cues like LED lights is to stay current and competitive. Do you think MB is going to go off on a tangent just to stay original in the eyes of fringe folks like you? Absolutely not.

I don't see Audi crying about other manufacturers using LED's in their cars, or BMW complaining about MB "biting" off them. It's just people like you who make a big deal about nothing. A mountain from a molehill.

totally dig the 4 fogs look on the CL class too

the cl is by far the sexiest merc ive ever seen

relax fire cracker......im just saying they should figure something new out instead of biting off other car companies....

I like it, but I think it will only look good in dark colors eg: black, dark grey, dark blue.

that rear shot = mazda 6 + maxima

This front end is similar to the one for the next R class, much more promising on that as this car has much larger styling shoes to fill

The question is.. what makes the new CLS different from an E or S then other than looks?

The one thing I've never understood about MB is they make so many lines of vehicles, they've got to be cannibalizing themselves.

The brake light is freaking weird. I'm actually a huge fan of BMW's idea to put it at the top of the rear window. Way more visible.
