Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from them, but they those guys know how to rock a stadium sized crowd. W&W was solid, but I didn't like KSHMR too much; he kept having these long pauses with cartoons and shit.

yeah I had low expectations for DVLM and they absolutely blew me away. KSHMR played some weird tracks but it was similar/if not the same as his Fonda theater set. W&W smashed it. Frontliner was alright...his set was way too quiet.

LOL wow... that's literally the exact same tracks in the exact same order still good tho. And ya, I thought Frontliner was waaay better when he came Insomnia last year; he also played the same shit with only a few new songs
So I went to freaknight instead. The line up getting in was shit. They threw away almost all the props, girls arnt even allowed to bring in their purses. Everyone had their shoes taken off. Waited in line in the rain for 2 plus hours to get in. Security was extremely strict. But once youre inside, the set up isnt bad except for pretty bad sound bleed from the main stage to the other one. Main Stage looked sick though.
I probably wouldnt go to Freaknight again unless they bring it back to Wamu.
Acts wise, Nicky Romero was decent, Chuckie was okay. Deadmau5 was total shit. Tuneboy swapped his timeslot so we missed him too. Day 2, missed adventure club and don diablo because of the long lineup. Carnage was good, Diplo killed it. MS54 was awesome, Tiesto was tiesto.
Can somebody ID ATB's last song during his set? Pls

damn that sucks bro.
we went to the shorter line that said VIP entrance (they still let regular tickets go in). max it took was half hour for my group to get in. got in right as adventure club was getting ready to play.

Damn sounds like they're tightening up security just like up here.
Anybody comment on if Dooms was strict to get in or not? Looking to gauge how bad Contact will be lol.

PNE security is the same at pretty much every event. Its only 'strict' if you get a security woman as they tend to pat you down more carefully. Security guys mainly pat for weapons IMO.
Contact last year took me less than 2 mins to get in even with the lineup. Just arrive early so you don't miss out on any DJ's you wanna see

also worth mentioning (not sure exactly when they started doing this, i started noticing it in 2014) that vpd brings their k9 units w/ drug sniffing dogs now. other than that it's more or less the same. did notice the patdown for dooms was a bit more thorough than usual but as jeedee said i think it's cause this time around i got a security lady

I've heard the k9 units are actually bomb-sniffing dogs/are used more as a scare tactic/to detect nervous behavior.
I mean think about it...the dog(s) would be set off like crazy every few minutes with all the amounts of drugs being snuck inside lol
that's what i used to figure too, but apparently a friend had his shoe sniffed @ dooms, and thereafter searched (apparently they made him take his sock off as well) so i'm not so sure anymore. i've also heard k9 dogs are/can usually only be trained to sniff for/specialize in one drug at a time though
i went to the far back line up. waited about hour and 45 mins. the freaknight app said that gate was the fastest lol
Yea same, I went to D entrance as well. One thing I would say about Freaknight was the good vibes though. So many nice ppl all around and easy to chat too. Unlike here..
I concur about Contact. It was pretty easy last year and went in under 5 minutes.
NYE lineup this year is Househunterz, Farteorro, Tritonal and DVBBWS.
Tritonal 3 times in 9 months?! I like them and all, but isn't that a bit too much? LOL
