How to hook PS3 to Computer Monitor ?

Hey , I have a 24' LG Flatron W2452T that I would like to connect with my PS3 so I can play on it. Is my monitor HDCP because I know you need that for the PS3. My monitor has a DVI-D and D-SUB output . How can I connect my PS3 to the monitor ? I heard you can just buy a HDMI to DVI-D cable, but how can you get sound ?

Thanks !

I use a DVI to HDMI converter for the screen and then use the AV cables for sound. Plug them into my receiver and from the receiver out to the speakers. THen on the ps3 you have to select output sound with AV. Hope this helps you out

If you have a newer receiver unlike me, you can also use the optical cable

If you dont have a receiver, I think you could probably use the AV cable, get an adapter that will plug into then get a 3.5mm adapter and plug it into your speaker..

its an amp but for home use, you hook up speaker too
if you gonna hook up to a 24" might as well get some computer speaker and hook them up to your ps3

for the audio, you can get a cable that has female RCA -> female 3.5mm, any computer store should be able to get it. then in the PS3 audio settings, select the RCA for output (I think it even shows a picture on the screen) and you should be good to go.

For the audio cables, just go to RP Electronics.

It depends more on the monitor/tv's output capacity and not the connection. Both HDMI and Component can handle 1080p so I can connect my PS3 using component/DVI to the TV in my living room and still get a better picture at full 1080p Vs. the PS3 with HDMI connected to my 720p TV in the bedroom.

let me guess, you think price = quality with cables too?
