Best computer for $1000?

My cousin is getting an exchange for his piece of shit HP laptop and is qualified for it. I don't know what's the best shit to get with that budget at futureshop.

Depends heavily on what he wants and what he's going to use it for. If he's willing to go with a desktop for $1000 he can get a really sweet one. Even amongst PC lap tops he can do well, or if he's into graphics & web design, pony up an extra couple hundred and get a macbook.

Because I love novelty I would probably go with one of the touchscreen PCs:

Or if he wants to go the laptop route, I the sony viao: (convienantly price pointed at 999.99)

Viao is just for looks.

I'm going to assume that you want gaming capabilities since you did not specify. If you're looking for a computer with the best specs at futureshop, most of them are hp..

Anyways, I recently exchanged a vaio laptop for this hp desktop back when it was on sale.

Overpriced and gfx card sux, but it still towers over most shitty desktop comps offered by fs.

Cons: i5 is sorta/will be outdated

Laptops: only gaming one below 1k i see:

If you can somehow get a refund:

He's not into laptops no more. Only desktops, oh and he need's a screen to go with it. Probably willing to pay $200 on top for it.

It makes a world of difference what he wants, so you should post specifications or what the comp will be used for.

For a thousand dollars almost there's a plethora of desk tops he can get that will play WOW.

He'll just need to make sure his comp comes with Microsoft Works or Office (not just a demo of office) so he can do his homework.

My last 3 comps were Acers and I have yet to go wrong with their laptops especially. Always solid.
