you got it mixed up.. its the lower deck that is fine. Just request lower deck when you purchase your ticket.

I went last year, just ask for the lower deck and you should be fine. The speed bumps at the terminal lanes is actually worst then the ramp into the ferry, I think I scraped while trying to go over those bumps.

Supposedly it depends if its high tide or low tide...forgot which one would be better

RiceIntegraRS 08-25-2010 08:05 PM

Lets just put it this way, i had to get a new front lip.

Lower deck also lowers the chance of door dings since you would be surrounded by trucks.

gonna guess high tide? that way the ramp would be level with the ship.

^^^

well i haven't been on the ferry for a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time....

so i don't know if the ferry is higher or lower than the ground when docking...

Yes time your departure with highest tide if possible.

shenmecar 08-26-2010 10:19 AM

if your that scared, you can always rent a car. its around 35bucks a day. and you don't need to wash off the bug splatter that you are bound to get!

chris walter 08-26-2010 12:29 PM

I don't think the tide really matters because the ramp is adjustable in so many ways. It depends who is operating the ramp

Search button...

that and

If you call ahead, they'll usually reserve the nicer deck (forgot if it's top/bottom) that has a WAY easier ramp to get into... should be okay, if you can get past most speed bumps in GVRD, you should be okay at the ferrys, except for the gay super steep deck.

Manic! 08-26-2010 04:51 PM

Over 3 inches and your fine on any deck.
