Taking lowered car on to ferry to Victoria?/

has anyone taken there car over to the island?? im thinkin about going over in a few weeks but my car is about 5-6 inches off the ground. Its been a while since ive gone over but i remember there being a big bump before getting on? anyone got any details or experiences?

5-6" inches should be fine, I got 2" at the lowest part of my skirt and .... Yah it was horrible.

you got it mixed up.. its the lower deck that is fine. Just request lower deck when you purchase your ticket.

I went last year, just ask for the lower deck and you should be fine. The speed bumps at the terminal lanes is actually worst then the ramp into the ferry, I think I scraped while trying to go over those bumps.

Supposedly it depends if its high tide or low tide...forgot which one would be better

Lower deck also lowers the chance of door dings since you would be surrounded by trucks.

well i haven't been on the ferry for a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time....

so i don't know if the ferry is higher or lower than the ground when docking...

if your that scared, you can always rent a car. its around 35bucks a day. and you don't need to wash off the bug splatter that you are bound to get!

I don't think the tide really matters because the ramp is adjustable in so many ways. It depends who is operating the ramp

If you call ahead, they'll usually reserve the nicer deck (forgot if it's top/bottom) that has a WAY easier ramp to get into... should be okay, if you can get past most speed bumps in GVRD, you should be okay at the ferrys, except for the gay super steep deck.
