Still a long time lurker, thought I'd help out a few people.

question for people who have been to job fairs, do we need to bring multiple prints of our resumes?

If you're asking that question, you probably should. Besides, if you only bring one copy and it's a panel interview, what do you do then?

bcrdukes 08-28-2010 07:48 PM

Just kidding! Go apply and good luck! :)

teaoh 08-28-2010 08:51 PM

cowncow 08-28-2010 10:53 PM

So I can see this whole job fair thing being flooded on craigslist...

They said they "are hiring for Cashiers, Food Preps, Cooks and Stand Leaders"

---------------------------

I'm pretty sure we'd have to go dressed appropriately for an interview! :p And yeah, bring a couple copies of your resume. I haven't been to a job fair before so this will be interesting...

How does a job fair work anyways?

Euro7r 08-29-2010 12:29 PM

Anyone work for Aramark or attended a job fair? I'm considering of applying, need a job and money haha.

sLiCkRiCk 09-01-2010 03:49 PM

Yeah I wonder what you do in the warehouse position? Doing set ups for concert stages, ice boards, and moving shit around?

Gt-R R34 09-01-2010 04:07 PM

lol, can you apply just to go watch nucks game for free?

Aramark people generally are working in the concourse so it is very difficult for them to watch the game. However, they do close the food and beer sales 2 mins into the 3rd.

JSALES 09-01-2010 06:35 PM

if i do decide to go to this job fair, i'm gonna go early. last time i attended a job fair that was advertised in the 24hrs newspaper, the line up went around the block how many times. it was probably like an hour and half wait

hotjoint 09-09-2010 01:52 PM

I used to work for aramark at rogers arena. I started off in concession stands then was promoted to my own beer portable stand. Wicked job, good pay and great people. A plus is that I was stationed next to section 326 where the wheelchair people would watch the games so I would get to sneak some peaks when it was dead. There was also a tv above me so I would get to watch the games too  I would've kept the job but working a full time in surrey then part time in vancouver and sky training back and forth wasting 2 hours of my time wasn't worth it.

JSALES 09-09-2010 02:35 PM

i decided to go yesterday but didn't really get to do much in the interview since i didn't have my references or my serving it right certificate. they just told me to e-mail my info and they'll call me hopefully on friday or monday. i hope they give me a call back

I wonder if they're still hiring =/.

yeah, there was tons. good thing i told my friend to go early so by the time i got there at 3:30, she was already near the front of the line. supposedly there was over 600 people lined up

cowncow 09-09-2010 05:30 PM

Don't worry dvxo, I forgot too.

I'm sure JSALES can get a job there and hook us up :p

So how was the job fair like? Tell me about it I'm very curious... Was there separate rooms? Since there was a line up, did people have to walk in one at a time? Was it like American Idol?

iTz_Curt 09-09-2010 06:48 PM

I went yesterday and got there around 5:15. I would have went earlier but I had school and my last class ended at 4:20. There was a shit load of people. There was so many people that I didn't even get to go inside for the face to face interviews. A person that was working there basically cut the line at a certain point and was like "everyone behind this person will not be able to go for an interview today, if you would still like to apply please submit your resume into this box". This happened around 10-15 minutes in by the time I was lining up so I guess I didn't waste too much time. I feel bad for people who were lining up longer and then finding out that they don't even get a chance for the interview.

basically, they let in about 10 or so people at time. once you're inside, you fill out an application, pick what position you're applying for then they bring you upstairs to have a one on one interview with someone

cowncow 09-09-2010 10:01 PM

Ouch, I don't think they'll look at the resumes in the box...

Anyways, thanks for answering my question.. hope you get a call back

JSALES 09-10-2010 08:19 PM

got a call back this afternoon and got hired haha
