never came to install my tv & cable cuz they said i don't have a port when i asked them on the phone, while the dealer said my area did

plus u might have to pay an extra $10 or so a month, so it doesn't sound like much of a good deal for u (my dad was planning to get there netbook back then)

Telus has released their Optik service. My co-worker is reporting 45Mb/s downstream and 1.x Mb/s upstream.

If you get the XBox package you can use the XBox as a second receiver for the Optical TV too (if you have that as well).

I have high speed Turbo, I can't recall the Mg rate but I run two desk tops, the xbox and a wireless laptop on it and rarely have lag issues.

If you go up into the Optick packages you get INSANE speeds but your TV is now sharing your internet connection. Bandwidth becomes a large issue if you have multiple highdef TVs as well (I currently only recommend it if you only have 1 HD TV or none then you can take full advantage of the set up).

if i were you, you should try a month of telus internet at your location first and see how fast the speeds are

for telus it all depends on your location. some locations you get super fast speeds some super unstabled speeds

yeah 45mbit/sec would not happen.

The best you can expect is 15mbit. If telus only runs 1 15mbit dsl to your house then if you have 2 tv's on it'd probably slow down to 7mbit ish.

The only way you'd be able to get 15mbit WITH tv's on is if telus ran 2 separate 15mbit DSL's to your house, I'm not sure if they are actually doing that or not.

^ They have 45mbit. It's just not for Residential. And it's possible.

well duh there are faster speeds for non-residential customers. Pretty sure that's not what we were talking about though.

I remember using Telus about 5-10 years ago, their uptime was horrible, I always kept getting disconnections and they are always down for maintenance. Absolutely horrendous, especially when their speed is slow (compared to Shaw).
