Apple store grand opening

Hey so the apple store in richmond centre is opening tomorrow, do they have any promotions that go on there?

gilly 09-10-2010 12:48 PM

hmm... they shoulda opened their new apple store at metrotown instead of richmond. pc and rmd centre are already fairly close to each other. prob get more traffic at metro too.

Liquid_o2 09-10-2010 01:13 PM

Probably looking at spending profiles and demographics of the surrounding area when choosing the location.

The Richmond Center rebrand is like 10x better than what Metrotown will have.
Thats why its there

Everyone thinks metrotown is so great, but seriously its just a giant mall.

There is actually very little space available at Metrotown these days, so I'm sure Apple would have needed to wait several months, or years, before something fitting their needs came up.

I'm a Burnaby guy, so call me biased, but there's no way Richmond Centre will ever get the same traffic as Metrotown despite the re-brand. Metrotown is connected by Skytrain so it gets traffic from the west and the east (e.g. Surrey) Richmond Centre is connected to Canada Line now, but it still doesn't have major tennants like Zara and Forever 21.

Spectre_Cdn 09-10-2010 02:58 PM

^Forever 21 is coming soon.

NEW RETAILERS

Forever 21, Sephora and Teopia are coming to Richmond Centre!
A phenomenon in the fashion world, Forever 21 is the source for the most current fashions at the greatest value. Sephora brands themselves as the world's premier beauty destination. They feature over 200 classic and emerging brands across a broad range of product categories including skincare, colour, fragrance, bath & body, smilecare and hair care. Teopia is the fastest growing loose leaf tea company in Canada. They offer high quality, delicious tea as well as a wealth of knowledge. Teopia sells over 100 varieties of premium loose leaf tea. We expect that Sephora and Teopia will open this fall and Forever 21 in the new year.

Exactly. Even on its busiest days Richmond Centre doesn't get half the traffic that Metrotown gets.

I'm not sure why anyone would call Metrotown "just a giant mall" as some sort of detraction. I mean, what's Richmond Centre? Just a medium-sized mall?

Not that I shop at Forever 21, but the one at Metrotown is 2 floors. All Metrotown needs is an H&M and it basically has all of the major chains and stores under one roof. The place will still remain a zoo on weekends. ;)

BaoXu 09-10-2010 03:59 PM

metrotown needs to bring johnny zees back.

SkunkWorks 09-10-2010 04:08 PM

And Rainforest Cafe.

SolidPenguin 09-10-2010 04:34 PM

And playdium

Ronin 09-10-2010 04:35 PM

Whichever mall gets UNIQLO to come here, that's the best mall.

Hondaracer 09-10-2010 04:57 PM

if Metro got an Apple store it would be 10 times busier than PC every day.
