local RC car parts shop?
 

I'm looking for a local RC car parts shop. prefereably in Vancouver or Richmond area.

Also, I'm looking for something that will go 60km/hr. Electric powered. how big of a motor do I need and what kind of battery?

what do you want? truck , buggy, car, f1, rally car? indoor car? water proof for playing in the mud?

A really good one is Apollo Hobbies up in Lougheed. Friendly staff, knows their stuff, at least the last time i was there.

There's also Golden Horizons in Howe St. Haven't been there yet though, since i only go to Apollo.

a bit off topic, RC8s converted to Castle Creations Mamba Monster brushless motors can probably easily reach 60kph.

a brushless slash with 3 cell lipo will do 60km's no problem

Apollo is kinda far from me. Just checked Golden Horizons website. They only sell CNC parts?

go to their store, their site is mainly for their hop up business. and apollo prices are pretty jacked up compared to others. tt01 is good for beginner but if you do plan to do 60+kph spend a little bit more money and get ta05 its a much better chassis. all the parts in the tt01 is just cheap and plasticky, be prepared to want to spend around another 100+ on hop ups to the chassis. brushless motor + esc is around 150, + 50 for lipo battery that you need if you want to run at that speed + 20-30 for servo, another 40 or more for receiver depending on if you want fm or digital + 30 to 300 for a remote again depending on if you want fm or digital + lipo charger is around another 130

golden horizons is ok too.

+1 apollo, plus there is one close by to Aberdeen Ctr in Richmond right across from some storage place on Cambie.. I cant remember whats that one called...

go to indy hobbies if you like to get rip off, and he treats his pit crew like shit too a good example was at RRR raceway event.

sounds like someone would rather shop online exclusively, and is hating on how they dont get helped locally...

I blew a whole lot of money on these things before in the past and I later realized that I should've spent them modding a real car instead. Try to resist the urge to spend more than $200 is my advice :)

ive been in the hobby for years, spending more than on my real car. the racing is cheaper than a real car, the actions cheaper, and a crash doesnt hurt me. theres fun classes to run too :thumbsup:

^Yeah I dont deny, it's crazy ass fun... if i had more disposable income I'd really want to get back into it... I loved the offroading jumps and whatnot
