They are fed this idea that you need to spread Gods word in order to be a good Christian. And by fed, I mean brainwashed. It's best just to be honest with the guy. Tell him nicely, you appreciate the materials, but you are finding it somewhat offensive lately because you believe in _____ instead. | If you actually know what you believe in, then by all means, fill in the blank. The problem is, most people, including Christians, don't know what they believe.
Now, if you're gonna used the term brainwashed, let's use it both ways. You're being brainwash with secular humanism, but that doesn't make you any better or worse than a Christian. Most people in this world are being brain washed with secular humanism; who's the sheep now?
BTW, I define secular humanism as a 'religion' because most people will define a religion as being functional, and not substantive. Quote:

I wouldn't mind attending church once in a blue moon, but one of the things that stop me is hearing a Christian sermon. They have a mentality of 'we are good, everything else is bad' and as a catholic, I felt a bit offended myself. Lol, I guess I got a bit carried away and this is a whole new topic in itself. | If you actually looked into the Bible, you'd see that any church that preaches 'we are good' is, right off the bat, preaching the opposite of what the Bible supports. Also, I should note that if you're going to bash the historicity of the Bible, let's save that for another thread. |
