Hardcoding Subtitles I searched and came up with nothing, I've googled as well but found nothing useful. What I want to do is hardcode subs onto an avi, windows tells me the video is XVID and the audio is AC3. now is there a simple way to do this? I've tried using VirtualDub but it starts encoding things and giving me a 4GB+ file from a 1.47GB source... I just want to stick the bloody subtitles on top of the video without changing anything else... :( |
You need to install the vobsub plugin and select your sub file. As well when encoding you need to select the xvid codec so it doesn't dump out a raw avi file. VirtualDub isn't really a beginner type of software. Check www.videohelp.com for more help or all in one programs or walkthroughs. |
If you have the .sub or .srt files and the movie in in a .avi container. I suggest "avi recomp". I used that to hardcode my softsubs so that I could stream them on the PS3 or xbox. The program is like 3 steps and it does it all for you. |
^ thanks, that's what I've got so I'll try that right now. Quote:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...ubs_to_avi.cfm i had searched for it before too, just follow the steps and it worked for me. good luck! |
^ that's one of the tutorials that I tried, to no avail. I just finished using the AVI Recomp that DragonChi suggested and it worked like a charm |
