the ozone hole is capable of naturally self repairing itself. it's because of the CFC's that we put into the atmosphere years ago that depleted the ozone layer at a faster rate. however, some of those CFCs have a very long life, and thus will still remain in the ozone layer for many years to come. that doesn't mean that climate change isn't occuring...global warming doesn't necessarily mean the earth is going to "heat up", it can go the other way -- colder places will get colder...so climate change is a better term for global warming.

Global cooling was the scare in the 80's.

Maybe one day we'll come to gripes with the fact that there is also natural climate change, and it can cause fucking big shifts including ice ages and much warmer temperatures. They've all happened, and not that long ago (in comparison to the age of the earth). I'm not encouraging pollution or waste whatsoever. The opposite, but it seems like people think ANY climate change is bad. It's NOT bad for the earth (it's fucking inanimate for one), but is is bad for US.

If we weren't a species that adapted our environment to us and made huge permanent settlements, it probably wouldn't matter as much. But there's lots of places on major fault lines (like here), or New Orleans below sea level in the path of hurricanes, or in already difficult climates, and we're not moving anywhere. We're stubborn as fuck.

natural climate change destroys ecosystems as well... and causes many species to go extinct...

^^^ rofl

sounds like what happened to those on Easter Island... they tore up all their resources to build the heads and ended up with no food so they went into the sea

Dinosaurs disappeared rapidly (a few centuries' worth) , not over the course of "millions of years".

i see what you did there.

if you read again i state climate changes through the course of millions of years. not the extinction of dinosaurs lol

in contrast with the rapid climate change seen in the past few centuries

the topic is climate change. not dinosaurs
